Ok, I just verified it. I decided to optimize starting with Airman and defeated Metal Man. I had originally thought that Rush Jet would save time, however going into the menu screen one extra time cancels out any time saved using it. With Crash Bomber, I found that it was most optimal to equip it after the part with the ladders and use it on the second and third wheel, slide through the fourth one and use on last wheel and manipulate a big weapon refill from there. Time saved for having Crash Bomber in Metal Man's stage was 455 frames. Time saved for having Leaf Shield in Airman is 505 frames. So there you have it. Starting with Metal Man first is optimal.

You know what, Nach? Now that I think about it, invincibility throughout the whole game is not really needed, since I could manipulate a big energy refill anywhere I want. The places I could think where being invincible will save time is in Metal Man where I stop to shoot the drill for the energy refill, and Wily, where I would be able to use Quint's device since I could take damage. Doesn't seem enough to justify the time wasted dying. I'd still like to know how that teleport up ladder trick works.

Sorry, I'll have to get around to that. My version of VBA still doesn't have proper movie recording :(

O well. Will continue to experiment then. This game seems a lot more solid then some of the NES Megamans.

You really believe that? Of the DMG ones, MMII is the most cracked. This game is buggy in just so many ways. Most unuseful for a TAS though. I really love the weapon change refill glitch though.

Yeah, I'd say that it's definately more buggy than 3 and 4. I never played 1 and 5 though. I'm actually referring to the left+right, up+down glitches that are inherent in the NES version.

Glad to make your day. But if you know of any crazy time saving glitches in this game like in the some of the NES Megamans, then by all means, let me know. Otherwise I stand by what I said.

You can do it upwards as well, uploaded a video of it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xe5aQCL4xCk It's pretty simple, wrapping downwards while on a ladder, all you have to do is press A+B while using the hard knuckle weapon. You can do it from pretty high up on a ladder as well and it will effect the next screen depending on your position. Without a ladder it seems to be 1 frame, the frame before you transition to the next one. Going upwards, it looks like you have 3 frames that work. The first one doesn't alter the graphics on the screen above either. For this one you have to hold Up as well as pressing A+B on the same frame.
