Lol, I was sure it was possible to spin dash through those rising columns, but it’s not. The terrain there makes you rolling infinitely when you hit the column. Otherwise, it would be possible without Tails jumping.

Very nice job, I couldn't do better I guess, but I have this little feeling... it needs a bit more speed, mainly after seing LTRP's runs. Good job anyway.

Some of Tails jumps could probably be avoided by more agressive spindashing through objects. If I have mood, I will make a slightly optimized version of this run.

Entertaining, but the jump count is disingenuous. It should either count Tails too, not just Sonic, or the run should be done with Sonic alone.

When you are in rolling case or flying, you can move fast even when you are fat. And you can try to hit a monitor. This strategy can probably make the run significally faster. Also that was some kind of a trolling post :-p However, some months ago I made an attempt to make a regular TAS of Sonic 2 XL. I stucked on optimizing the loops, which probably does not mean that it cannot be done well. Link to video

Disagree, I like collect rings, and collect rings is not run anywhere like idiot, it's choose the fastest, the best, and the most optimized way to collect all rings, all is calculated, all is plan because it's Tool-Assisted.

Oh wow… This level wrap seems to me so obvious now… I wonder how didn’t I try it when I TASed this level… And so Sonic has restored his status quo over Amy (my Amy TAS was 1 frame faster than Aglar’s result with Sonic). (upd) it seems not to be possible for Amy to gain so huge speed there. It’s about 4500, right? Because there is also a slope which decelerates you, and your speed has to be over 4096 at the beginning of the level… P.S.: TASed it a bit, and nearly got 4096 with Amy, but it took much longer route to make :( also it’s still less than enough to perform level wrap. Are you sure it’s RTS?.. How you aligned yourself perfectly? And how the hell you tricked the air speed cap?..

He performs a so called double jump (only possible with Sonic or Knuckles here I'm quite sure) where he lands immediately after the first one and then directly jumps again and thereby get two boosts, where the second one is very powerful. He kept the speed in air simply by hitting the ceiling.

I meant the thing that sets your speed to 1536 if your control over the direction keys is not frame-perfect.

Just a matter of not holding forward while in air. He's Tee-N-Tee so he can do that.

Just made a TAS which is unique (sort of). I made a GMV file that syncs both Sonic 2 and Sonic 3. Although this is short and the TAS itself is mediocre, I thought it was pretty cool.

It’s not actually unique — the idea is really old, and there are some successful implementations of it, here is a good example. However, it seems to be the first TAS of this kind in Sonic TAS world. I remember how a few weeks ago feos suggested a way of emulator development — making TAS editor a plugin compatible with any TAS emulator. It could allow making such TASes with ease, and even could make it possible to make a movie, which would sync on different platforms at the same time (if you bind the keys properly). Anyway, nice and innovative work, friend :)
