Tried with Version 8 and all Version 9 wip and it desynced at the same place. Here are the md5sums of the files I used: 0f04fc1b5bf8c9a887abcf14ce96b0cd for Castlevania - Bloodlines (U) [!].bin eee4b429a7f5c19170de825a01f1db35 for castlevania_bloodlines_expert_lecarde_v1_dan_.gmv

Try it now. I redid level 1, and not only is it 3 seconds faster, but I think it looks a bit cooler :P http://dannyfowler.150m.com/gens_movies/castlevania_bloodlines_expert_lecarde_v2_dan_.gmv

Nifboy: It likes me, because it works for me. It's too bad it doesn't like anybody else :P I worked around the system and uploaded a zip, so try this now. If this doesn't work, the only thing I can think of is that my webspace is corrupting the .gmv, even though it didn't do that to any other movies. I've tried the movie on 4 or 5 different roms, and it's worked on all of them. http://dannyfowler.150m.com/gens_movies/cv.zip

Thanks a ton to Jyzero and everybody else who helped. I've redone level 1 (again) and not only is it an additional 4 seconds faster, it works without messing with the sound. So you all can play this movie with the luxury of sound. Level 1 - 3:07.78 Level 2 - 8:26.38 http://dannyfowler.150m.com/gens_movies/castlevania_bloodlines.zip

Dan, that is one horrible server. It's one step away from installing the spyware Gator under IE, and I don't think it will let me download unless I accept the cookies they're trying to push to me (again, one of them from Gator!!). Can someone please host the GMV for him? At least I know why it never worked for me... I never got a real ZIP, just a 404 html page... :P

I've never heard of that problem before. Can't you just drag and drop the link into the address bar? That's how it works for me and everybody else.

I keep getting the "A Hotlinking Error Has Occurred" page (either in Firefox, IE, or as a ZIP file). I'm not a PC newbie or anything, I've tried various methods to download the file (DLExpert is the download manager I use - the only one I know that is free and isn't infected with adware), and none of them work. Find another server, man. For goodness sakes! Doesn't your ISP provide any webspace?

Since Dan surpassed my run with Lecarde, i decided to leave him to dan and i'll do a run with morris, i've completed stage 1 with a time of 3:22.48(from when i gain control to when i collect the orb) Since i lack webspace, if you want to see the run you'll have to pm me so i can send it to you. The run was done on expert.

To download Dan_'s runs and the runs of a few others around here, it's easier to copy the URL and paste it into the address bar of your browser. Also, it's possible to right click and "Save Target As..." where applicable. Both of these can bypass the hotlinking errors.

I just made one. japanese version tho (BLOOD). Check that out. My first speedrun and I could improve it on bosses quite a bit... but It looks okay. http://tasvideos.org/submissions/44.zip <edit> And it's 3 buttons for player 1&2. Played with Eric on Normal. (easy would be faster ... no Elisabeth-fight and all...). Surprisingly long game. Lots of automaticly scrolling stages.

Okay... I've improved my run with one minute (bosses...). But I noticed several places that could be better... so someone who has the authority to _kill_ my Akumajou Dracula speedrun from the Bisqwit's site.. well, do so. :P I have this improved versio up in a few days.

It has blood and other uncencored stuff. What's the point playing without em? :T I just made a 30min18sec run but it went out of synch.. gotta try it again later.

Wait, wasn't the American version left intact and the European one ("Castlevania: The New Generation") censored? I know the latter part is true at least, and I distinctly recall blood all over the place in the US one. *shrug* -Josh
but then you take my 75 perchance chance of winning, if we was to go one-on-one, and then add 66 and two-thirds ch...percents...i got a 141 and two-thirds chance of winning at sacrifice

Finished with a time of 31:39 http://tasvideos.org/queue.cgi?mode=view&id=78 It's only 21 seconds slower than mazzeneko's version, and I used the expert difficulty :) Actually, I was ahead if it until Medusa's second form which takes forever on expert.

Wow, nice run, Dan. I saw some new tricks from your run and tested them in my Normal run.. Finished it in 29:42... But the damn thing got desynched in stage 4 >.< Nowadays every run I make gets desynched, it's just weird. <edit> Okay, I finished my v2. 29:45. 2 mins faster than previous :P (not too long bartley-fight or anything silly like that.) Mostly just killed bosses much faster and used some nice tricks Dan used in his run. (thanks for the tips :P) 3 buttons for both players and it should playback fine. http://tasvideos.org/queue.cgi?mode=view&id=82

Yeah, I could do that.. but I don't know even how you can put on that harder difficulty... I only could improve my Normal runs like before. I know it's ok to enter codes that makes the game harder, but perhaps they can shave off couple of minutes from their run. Personally, I think Normal is enough to get a compact and _short_ run. That 2 min Elizabeth fight is just plain silly in a time attack. X)
