Indeed... since my score just got improved upon :) I'm not at all bothered by it, since I knew my score was far from unreachable. Also glad it was Leonie who beat it, since Xkeeper had already been number one for such a long time.

I used that levelling system because the standard one takes too bloody long to get going.
It's almost ironic how I thought just a few days ago "Damn, I wish there was a level select..." (given how the first 7 minutes or so are entirely pointless, it'd be nice if you could jump straight to level 65-0 or something)

The pain of being beaten by a female goes away slightly. But I still want my spot back.

Hey SprintGod, how about a new Tetris mode? How about when a piece locks into place, it turns invisible? You could have a nice looking fadeout effect over the course of 0.25-0.5 seconds or so. XKeeper has suggested you call this mode "Suicide" though I'm not convinced that's the best name for it.

(RPG: Random Piece Generator. Spin on RNG.) Quoted from tetrisconcept.com:
colour_thief wrote:
In games adhering to the official Tetris Guidelines, most notably TDS, the randomizer is known to not be purely random. In fact, the randomizer's rules are quite simple: Give the player each of the 7 tetrominoes, in a random order. Give the player each of the 7 tetrominoes, in a random order. Give the player each of the 7 tetrominoes, in a random order. ... and so on So, this explains why the randomizer is good enough to give you fairly consistent I pieces, yet bad enough to give you strings like SZSZ.
Perhaps it would be wise to implement this, instead.

Eh. If you want to see real speed, watch mine. I think one of mine reaches 1.5blocks/sec, most of theirs only goes to 1.2blocks/sec. (I'LL GET YOU NEXT TIME, BAXTER!! NEEXT TIIIMEEEE!!!)

My score/level number is one of the best in the game, which makes sense, since I do the "tetris only strategy," and tend to die at higher speeds much easier than the other top players. If I had Baxter's endurance, I would be able to get pretty crazy scores at low levels. My main weakness right now is not being able to spin pieces in both directions. HOLY CRAP, we have RZ Stephen on the list. That guys QUADRA (Tetris with pieces that fall) is the best in the world. Quadra can be found here: http://quadra.sourceforge.net/ I urge you to download it, and view his crazy replay. I bet he'll be in the top spot soon enough :)

Now if only I could get my will to play this back. I think I overdosed on Tetris. I guess it is possible.

Yeah, you shouldn't overdo it... I mostly played a game in between of doing something else, when I needed a short break. I'm not gonna try to improve my scores... I'm happy as it is (might change if the high score list changes).

It'd be easier to have fun if the RNG wasn't the cause of about 90% of my attempts... -_-

Upon further playing, I've decided that until the RNG is fixed, I'm not going to be playing this... Getting constant strings of ZSZSZSZ or starting a game with 5 Zs and 3 Os isn't fun or logical, and everyone I've asked from tetrisconcept (about 5 people) all agreed that the RNG really sucks. This particular clone relies on luck more than it does actual skill sometimes, and that's just unacceptable. People shouldn't lose because of something they can't control. I've already posted an alternative, much fairer RNG that's in the World guildelines set up by TTC. Just fix the (*#%ing thing already so that we all have a level playing ground.

I have to say that I somewhat disagree. I recently got a score over 4 million at death mode, and I also improved my normal mode score today... with not too much effort actually. You might think or say that it depends on luck, and I agree a little to this... but not entirely. I think I improved my playing a little recently which got me these scores, and I think I can do better than this (with this RGN). It's also about how you set up your pieces to give randomness less influence on your game. I think I can improve both my normal mode score, and death mode score, with not too many games of trying... so I don't see a need for a new RGN. I think the very short amount of time to place your block has far greater influence than the randomness. Adjusting the randomness for the game to be easier would also do no right to the scores that have been made sofar. Edit: 28 million now at normal mode :)

i think he was going for tgm rules, not srs, xkeeper. although, the 7perm piece generator's probably closer to tgm's generator than pure random. the real thing i'd worry about is wall kicks. they're amazingly important in 20g, but this game lacks any such ability. and oh yeah, heh-- i kind of told rzstephen about this thing.

I could probably get more information on the TGM system, but the World generator (you call it '7perm') was just an obvious choice that's easy to remember and implement. And wall kicks? They'd be nice, sure, but they aren't required. (and I never cared about SRSvsTGM rules, I just think that the random number system sucked)

Wow, that was very impressive! It seemed to me like digits don't go over 100 million, so perhaps it was good that you died, otherwise the game might have crashed or something.

Also managed to get the first place at death mode again :) Finally above 10 million: http://ccgi.gdward.plus.com/cgi-bin/tetris/highscores.php?death=1 Mostly I die because I make an error because of the high speed at the end. This wasn't the case this time... I had a very good chance of making a tetris at the end, which would have made the score a lot higher. Unfortunately, the right piece didn't came, so I basically died waiting for it. Here is the movie.
