Considering that's not directly over a spike pit (only 2 spike tiles are under it), I'm kind of wondering just how you manage to land in it. If you hold left or right while falling, you'd land on the platform just above the spikes, or the floor next to the spikes.

Since it says that it won't run on zsnes 1.4x, i'm kind of stuck. I don't even know whether i patched the rom correctly. Can anyone verify that the crc is supposed to be 93026659?

Okay, I give up. Are you supposed to get up this shaft in crateria without hi-jump? I've been trying for a while now and it looks like it might just barely be possible. However, I don't want to spend hours on hours trying just to find out it's not. The cavern is located near the very beginning of the game.

Wow. If quite a few people are having a hard time doing this game, then a speedrun of the game, especially a 100% one, would be REALLY impressive to watch. O_o I for one would love to see a speedrun of this game sometime.

No, despite how it may seem, a 100% run of this game would get rather boring, while an any% would be rather impressive. Trust me on this one.

Right now I'm just doing a rough route for others to look at and check out, I'm on my way to pick up gravity now (ingame time of 49? minutes, actual time of about 1:13).

I don't recall having to get up there that early. You probably need to go elsewhere first.

You need the high jump boots to get up there.

And NOW I'm stuck in a place where I need to wall-jump over spikes. And I can get like 3 or maybe 4 walljumps, but the walls are so far apart that I get like 1 or 2 tiles of height each iterationa nd always always mess up and fall on the spikes.

Hmm, I can't understand how walljumping up this room is so hard. If it is for you then you probably don't know how to walljump correctly. Just practice it.

I had some trouble with walljumping at first, too. Here's a hint: to walljump you have to be next to a walljumpable wall and press away from it. If you just do this, you'll see samus clinging to the wall, but still dropping down. when samus clings to the wall, you can jump off of it. you should ideally press left or right and jump at the same moment. If you press jump a little later, you'll lose some height from sliding down the wall, but still make the jump. Pressing jump too early will cause you to drop down. in short, if you have a high failure rate, try to press jump a little later than left/right. hope this helps.

In Super Metroid, you had to press the direction away from the wall for at least two frames before pressing jump (and continuing to hold that direction). After I knew this about the game, I was actually able to improve my walljumping ability. (In the actual name, not this Super Metroid: Gravity.)

Yes. Watch for changes in the stalagmite/tite formations. Changes mean you're getting somewhere.

The only change i've seen so far is a set of 3 stalagmites changing sizes. From Big, small, small to big, small, big I can go past that endlessly...

You did remember that you can't get back to the ship and have to go left because you can't go up when you return to that point?
someone is out there who will like you. take off your mask so they can find you faster. I support the new Nekketsu Kouha Kunio-kun.

Tub, try frame advance and memory peeking.

I used frame advance (how else could one do it?), and even pressed dash a frame earlier and one later each time to be sure. No shinespark. Memory peeking won't work with the instable combination of snes9x and wine I have to use here. Hence the question.

Here how it works, to get the first speed booster counter, you have to hold "dash" for 30 frames, it doesn't matter if you turbo the button or start holding 20 frames after you run, and then it continues like that, I don't have the numbers in my head, just count frames until the speed booster activates if you want to know how long it takes.

I'm still stuck after the Varia. Everything I've tried in west Norfair is blocked off and non-returnable.

Where is the Varia suit? Is it in the hot area? I can't seem to go any farther... :(

nope graveworm, you can't shortcharge in this hack. However, you can shorten the required distance to get a charge a little by holding A after 15-16 frames of holding right (or left, as it were). Serj: you need the ice beam, and the varia suit is in red brintsar. Frito: try checking the lower left area on the map a little more closely :P

Where is the Ice Beam then? I'm stuck between the hot area and a long shaft that I can't go back up...
