His name and website are shown during the game credits. If you check out his blog, he hyped the run before uploading it:

Pathetic beyond words.

Good news guys! I had a little chat with SonicAdvDX, and he finally agreed to delete the stolen Mario 64 video. Here's a transcript of our "chat session":
Halamantariel said (08:30 pm) :
Hi. you don't know me, and I don't know you, but I know you stole your Mario 64 video from tasvideos.org and it's not cool.

Halamantariel said (08:31 pm) :
Please remove it or put the right video (without covering the text in it) and cite the right source.

Halamantariel said (08:35 pm) :
ignore me if you wish, but know that the people on tasvideos.org do not intend to let you keep this video like it is.

Halamantariel said (08:36 pm) :
they're not going to let you say that it's your video that you made yourself and bla bla bla. You might have noticed the comments on your youtube account already.
forms have been filled complaining about copyright infringement, just so you know.
they're not happy about this.
(and I'm one of them)

Halamantariel said (08:41 pm) :
the least you could do is reply ONCE ...

SonicAdvDX said (08:41 pm) :
Is this concerning the Super Mario video?

Halamantariel said (08:42 pm) :
yes it is concerning the Super Mario 64 video that you STOLE from tasvideos.org and claimed as your own.

SonicAdvDX said (08:42 pm) :
Actually, I did not steal it. My step brother did, and put it under my name. Frankly, I'm tired of hearing about it.
Do you know how to delete videos from YouTube?

Halamantariel said (08:43 pm) :
I don't know. Try writing to Youtube officials or something
just get rid of this video, and fast. And tell your precious admirers and fans that you're a phony

SonicAdvDX said (08:43 pm) :
Well, do you have an account? I know the password, I just don't know how to delete videos.
Again, this wasn't posted by me.
It's my step brother.

Halamantariel said (08:44 pm) :
I do have an account, but I don't have any vidoes.

Halamantariel said (08:45 pm) :
worst case scenario: give me your password and I'll find a way to delete it.
To remove one of your videos, simply log in, go to http://www.youtube.com/my_videos and click on the 'Remove Video' button next to the video you'd like to remove. You are only able to remove videos that you have uploaded.

SonicAdvDX said (08:45 pm) :
Hold on, I might have it right here.
Oh, okay, hold on.

Halamantariel said (08:46 pm) :
tell me when it's removed.

SonicAdvDX said (08:46 pm) :
Thanks for your help.
It should be gone now.

Halamantariel said (08:46 pm) :
verifying..

Halamantariel said (08:47 pm) :
it's removed.
Thanks.

SonicAdvDX said (08:47 pm) :
No, thank you!
I'm so sick of telling people that it wasn't me. My dick step brother put my screen name at the end of that video and I've never heard the end of it.
I appreciate it.

Halamantariel said (08:47 pm) :
Thanks for deleting this video, and sorry if I was rude on anything.

SonicAdvDX said (08:47 pm) :
Well, you haven't been.

SonicAdvDX said (08:48 pm) :
But, some "erokdrah" guy is hasslin' me about it.

Halamantariel said (08:48 pm) :
I've told him to stop it.

SonicAdvDX said (08:48 pm) :
Appreciate it.

Halamantariel said (08:49 pm) :
I'll be going now. Have a good day!

SonicAdvDX said (08:49 pm) :
Well, thanks again, man. Maybe now I can return to a normal instant messaging lifestyle. XD I appreciate your help.

They can actually be surprisingly effective against someone who is purposely creating misinformation, as those people usually aren't the brightest. Or, their "step-brother", in this case.

I can't wait for the next SonicAdvDX's speed run!

I'd like to point out that you guys are not the spokespersons for TASVideos. Especially not if you're just going to immaturely flame someone for his copyright infringement. Next time, you should just leave it to Bisqwit to write a proper message to the infringing party.

If someone maliciously tries to copy content from here, and all they get is "gosh it'd be great if you would remove this video" with no follow-up, we get nowhere. It's how the world works. A different tactic was used, which brought fast attention to the fact that this community was aware of the video and it's malice to the community, which allowed positive action to be taken in removing it. I've learned that many people underestimate what a flame response can achieve, or overestimate what being polite can achieve.

Anyway, I'd like to point that Graviteh is the gossipmonger for TASVideos.

Personally, I would be better persuaded by a polite and reasonable request rather than by flames. I'd say that the flame response might work in certain situations, but I don't think it's probably the best way to begin a dispute since there's a good chance that the situation can start to very ugly real fast. It's better to at least start out in a civil manner; save the brute tactics for later if polite requests do not work. It would be nice if people didn't start at the level of flaming his YouTube profile to get him to delete the vid removed because it doesn't reflect well on the community as a whole as Omega pointed out. I'd also like to point out that it was Halamantariel's tactful conversation that got our desired result--not the flames.

You probably wouldn't steal work off of the site, either.

This is true. I guess I should revise myself to say that the flaming is more of an attention grabber than a problem solver. Both have their place.

Aww, look at all the bad stuff this poor guy had to put up with from you, just because of what his dick step brother did. :( It's just like what happened to omniswarrior, and Cinderella. I think this line says it all: "Maybe now I can return to a normal instant messaging lifestyle."

The flaming is usually intended (IMO) to bring tell the offender that "We aren't fucking around". I really think it should be used as a last resort, and even then it needs to be clever.

It doesn't matter how long a video is up there, what matters is that people become aware of who made it, either by editing the description to admit he didnt make it. If the person is not willing to give credit where credit is due, then we can make his reputation on the internet really negative as a work thief.

yeah , I doubt I believe that stuff he said about his step brother doing this after watching the video and alll those comments. Pff yeah right, he probably enjoys all the attention that is probably why he did it.

It's not my intention to "boss people around", but rather to remind them that it isn't always desirable to start flaming away when it is found that someone plagiarized material found on TASVideos.

Does anyone know where the use of "flame" as an insult originated? I'm just curious because it seems like an odd term to use.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flaming I wouldn't have believed his "not me" story either but it doesn't matter now. He probably caved in once he started getting hassled over it.
