Well, that's pretty dumb. A time improvement is a time improvement, even if it's less than a second.

i agree, i still have the original copy of my tape. maybe sometime they will change their minds, probably not though. I am still trying to nail a 5:08 no glitch run though. i've almost done it numerous amounts of times. i just get nervous, the reason being is that a 5:08 is a perfect game without the use of glitches. (what i have calculated) EDIT: Twingalaxies says that they cannot manually measure the time to exact parts of seconds, but it's obvious my time is faster if it beats the other one by 1 game unit.

To my knowledge, SDA usually goes by Seconds. Encoding a second movie for the same amount of time, hardly anyone will notice. But they should at least give you credit in the authors submission of the vurrent movie.

I think it can be beaten lot faster than 14 minutes. TAS is 9:18 and I think it's not impossible to beat it in 10-11 minutes.

Hmm, I would guess somewhere around Guybrush's time, probably somewhere around 10-11 minutes. Probably closer to 11 than 10. Keep in mind though that the menu navigation in my TAS is super-duper fast, so doing the game that fast on console is not that likely... One problem is the Sphinx, which can cost you quite some time if he asks you a question that you don't have the item for... But I don't know... With good planning and some luck I would guess that a time like 10:45 sounds reasonable, if you've trained a lot on moving menucursor fast. Good luck, have fun to anyone who wants to try this out. :)

I hope you mean the NES version, but even then that's still generous. *Mega Man 1 (PS2 Anniversary Collection Version) Performed by Sir VG -Single Session 26:19 I've submitted it to SDA, but it hasn't been posted yet. I could post a video on filefront if you wanted.

Yeah, it's been beaten in under 24 minutes, but Sleepz isn't around to correct himself.

1:10 - He took that hit. loseing time. 1:50 - His gutsman battle could have been 5-7 seconds faster. 2:27 - He cpould have jumped onto the ledge and jumped again instead of climbing all the way. more to come when i come back.

how fast do you think super mario bros. 1 full completion could be beaten in by a person? I'm guessing about 19:30 maybe. what other mistakes did he make?

Its an old topic but intresting. The first post here is two years old or so and some of them is incorrect. I have beat some of the times there. (Mega man X 100%, SMB3.. MM3 maybe) annyway. heres my list SMB1 - 1 sec faster then the WR SMB3 - around 11:05 is the limit with out "the glitch" (1-up-wall-cut) I think Mega man 2 - sub 30 without glitches is possible Mega man 3 - I will try to get at least 39 minutes maybe 38 in te future. Don´t think it possible to do much faster then that. MEga man 4-5. around three minutes slower then the third game Mega man X - around 35 Mega man X - around 39 ...minutes Contra - 10:20, 10:30 Super Contra - 14 minutes Contra III 16:50 (hard) Duck tales - 08:50 (hard) Duck tales 2 - PAL version. 11:20 what do you think?

i beat super contra in about 14 minutes. I didn't think it was so great. the game is kind of easy after playing it so many times.

really? well I also planning a run on this game. The time for that game was more like a thought from me. I´m just under 20 minutes myself. Have beat it withouth dying game over a few times only. So you have 14 minutes? then I have a time to go for :) Are you planning this run andrew? It would be cool to see you playing it.. The last stage or so seems a little hard to speed trough.
YEAH...
