I've been trying and trying to get from 15 to 40. I just cannot get to that door, I try over and over, all kinds of methods(including the one on the website you showed me boco)... no such luck

Okay, I got a real solid run in, getting up to the tadpole in 1:20(and finishing his level at 3:35). It was a pain thinking of ways to be entertaining, but I think even though it's not a fast paced level, it is fun to watch nonetheless. http://www.thezorz.com/agile/umihara3.smv Rom: Umihara Kawase(J) This is a game that I don't think could ever be 100% perfected. What you see now took several hours as it is, but I do plan on finishing the game and submitting it. It should be entertaining for those who have not played the game, and even moreso for those who have and know what a challenge it is. If you don't have it, I suggest you get it. I got it as a reccommendation off these forums and I'm glad I did, it is amazing. Suggestions welcome(as is competition): so far, I think I've been using the fastest routes possible, and executing them in an extremely close to perfect fashion. I really just want feedback now I guess, I am not going to post in the workshop until the complete version.

I actually have a completed run done. Not spectacular in the least, apart from zero deaths. I was just playing it at normal speed, using savestates at certain trouble points in case I slip up. Of course, this was also the first time I'd ever been to the later levels, so the path I take within some of the stages is less than par. It does only have one boss fight level (49), and it's not one where you just sit and wait to win. So at least the excitement level is decent. Fixed. thanks, meant to check that. Man, I wish I thought about how less levels wouldn't mean less time, heh. That tadpole level takes so long to complete(and took so long to do), so I guess it would be best to compare it to other routes- when I planned it I guess I just thought "less levels + smaller numbered/easier levels= less time"

I like this movie. And the little I see in this movie, I like the game as well. I'd like to see more of it. Is there a possibility someone would make a play-all-maps movie? I suppose this movie takes some radical shortcuts.

It's impossible to play all the Fields in one playthrough.. most specifically because there are four ending Fields, but more generally because of the way the map is laid out. I'll update the site on the Wiki with a lot more info on how to get individual Field recordings and what the map looks like, etc..

After posting that me and bisqwit discussed it in IRC shortly and he came up with the idea, and I sort of expanded on it since then, to play the game using the largest number of fields possible, in the shortest amount of time. And the way I think of it, if I beat the game in 8 minutes using 15 fields(as an example), then somebody came and beat the game in 10 minutes using 16 fields, their video would get presidence over mine. I'd do this but I think I'll wait until your updated map, since there are levels you know about that don't appear on it.

I'll start mapping the Fields out on the Wiki (basically listing them, their time limits, what exists there are and where, maybe some other info). Then I'll play through the game, capture graphical maps, convert them to some useful format, post that too (so the doors will be marked, 1-ups will be marked, the start location of you and each enemy is marked, etc). So each Field will have its own page, so people can contribute strategies for specific Fields and movies of each Field being completed the fastest (or best) way in both tool-assisted and clean runs will be there. And more! ^,^

Actually, I just saw your movie and you pretty much beat me in every level. Anyway. I can't even if I wanted to as for some reason, Snes9x messed up my smv. I started doing it again because I found somewhere where I messed up, and I'm only half way done. When I finish it I'll send it to you. Edit: You can end your movie a lot sooner

Thank you for introducing me to this fun game. It is similar to Sonic Crackers. (I can do some really tricky jumps in that game too) I bet that it will easily eat my whole weekend. That part with 3 1-ups trapped in ice in field 42 is insane. That takes you to an upside down version of the first map (43). Is there any way to go in the door that is right where you come out, or is it for decoration only? Does field 9 exist? It is also impressive that it can save many movies like that with only a 2KB SRAM.

Now that I think about it it IS similar to Sonic Crackers in how the physics of the elastic line work. Fields 09, 13, 19, 27, 32, 39, 44, 53, 54, and anything over 57 either don't exist or I don't know how to get to them.

Actually, they are the same length. I just accidently forgot to include level 30. Anyway, mine has 2 bosses, yours has 3. You could reduce it to 2 by doing 42 instead of 25. I'm not sure if you did on purpose. Boss levels usually take a while. Did you want to have an extra boss level?

I don't know what do the bosses in this game look like.

Well, some, like the level 8 giant tadpole, take a minute or two to beat. Some , like in level 36, which is in the current movie of the game, take about 5 seconds to beat(I'm not sure if it is even a boss). Anyway, most of the bosses that I have seen can only be beat in a set amount of time and leave the player to waste time. See NrgSpoon's first run to see the tadpole level. Very boring(no offense meant torwards NrgSpoon). I would suggest not doing the extra boss level. Now, we just have to find out which route is faster.

Fun game although I am not far yet. With all of the work being done it would be a waste for it to not be fully time attacked. I haven't watched your guys' videos yet but I will soon. Edit: oops there already is a time attack, it was very nice btw.
