City of God had a very good reception in the US, last time I checked. I saw it for a Brazilian film class, but I know a lot of people who saw it just by word of mouth.

In no particular order. Saving Private Ryan Braveheart Lord of the rings 1-3 Ghostbusters The terminator (I preferred the 1st one over the 2nd mainly when the terminator is making carnage at police dept.) Legends of the fall Stalingrad All Nightare on Elm Street movies and all Friday the 13th movies. Including Freddy VS Jason. I probably miss some other good ones.

Mulholland Drive Star Wars (5,6,4,2,3,1) Lord Of War Corpse Bride Rosemary's Baby The Ninth Gate Dead Poets Society And many more in which lie some french movies...

Phil. Legends of the fall is brilliant, forgot about that one. Stalingrad...i saw the dubbed version and it didn't really work for me. Braveheart, great as a movie but absolute historical garbage.
