Guess I had to watch it, and I didn't think it was bad at all. The fact that Zan shouts "parrot" repeatedly is not a problem for me, I mean I understand Blaze's dance. The only thing that doesn't make it awesome IMO is that Blaze is not frenetic enough for the music. Say, there's a kick then a strong hat in the music every 2 steps, yet Blaze does change direction every 4 steps, which does look a little bit slow. Besides, I thought that Blaze walking randomly left right up down could have been funnier, with some frame advance moves (the frame advance tornado) that would represent that tune you hear sometimes in the music (some kind of guitar, but it could be another part of the music, your choice). Again that's just my VERY subjective opinion, do whatever you want to do with it. Also, when I thought about dancing, I imagined Zan and Blaze doing some sort of synchronized dance. But it does look good, don't be discouraged.

Say, there's a kick then a strong hat in the music every 2 steps, yet Blaze does change direction every 4 steps, which does look a little bit slow. I'm not sure what you mean when you say "kick" and "strong hat" (I don't know the slightest damn thing about music, so no surprise), but the speed at which Blaze does the intervals just seemed the most natural to me. Actually, I had the opposite opinion which was that Blaze's dance was so fast and chaotic that someone watching the movie the first time wouldn't know what the hell was going on. Besides, I thought that Blaze walking randomly left right up down could have been funnier, with some frame advance moves (the frame advance tornado) that would represent that tune you hear sometimes in the music (some kind of guitar, but it could be another part of the music, your choice). Well, I kind of had that idea, but instead going just left to right for the part with the....ah, hell if I can explain it, but the part where the music seems to wobble. It would've been like the bar chart found on audio players that changes as the music changes. Unfortunately the music was just too damn fast for Blaze to be able to do it without it looking like redundant wobbling. Also, when I thought about dancing, I imagined Zan and Blaze doing some sort of synchronized dance. That would be a practical impossibility considering one player still has to deal with the Yamato half the time. I had originally planned that sort of thing for the beginning of Stage 7 Scene 2, but now that I found out about the rediculously long recovery time for Blaze's back attack, I might have to scrap that and go for a big fight scene instead. Either way, Zan will get his time in the spotlight once the first Yamato is down. Edit: You know, I just noticed something interesting. I had found out that the intervals at the beginning were 24 frames apiece by trial-and-error, and Qlex came to the exact same conclusion (1/2 interval = 12 frames) by dividing out the beats per minute. I just find that to be pretty neat.

Through the second Yamato now. I know, it's pretty redundant, but there wasn't a whole lot I could do. Should I keep the finisher to the second Yamato or use something that's faster?

It's looking great, I don't mind the redundancy when you have the second player doing something interesting. Keep the finisher for the second Yamato since there should be leniency in all interesting fighting games (ones that deserve TASs of) otherwise you have this big, long run of the same move that gets the fastest results and who wants to see that?

I laughed SOOOO much when I saw the second Yamato being taken down :) I loved it, it was absolutely beautiful. I hope the third Yamato will be killed another original way, I thought about both hitting the boss with rhythmic punches (something that REALLY fits in the music, not a punch at every interval), but do as you wish.

Hilarious. The "Zan dance" would make a nifty avatar. I liked the finisher, too. A little flourish never hurt anybody. (Except Yamato.)

Haven't touched the run for a while, but with Christmas break coming up after finals, I should be able to get a good chunk of work done to make up for it.

Indeed it would. I would make one, but I can't make animated GIF files.

The file is about 4x too big to use as an avatar here, and the dimensions are also too big both ways. Optimizing and shrinking it down might bring it under the 75kb limit, or whatever it was. He can really bust a move for an old guy, though.

Why don't you rip it at the right size then? What you have there is a 2xSAI'd or hq2x'd version of what it should be.

Not a damn thing, unfortunately...and this time I have no excuse. My motivation for this sort of disappeared over winter break, and the fact that Streets of Rage Remake was released on the 1st didn't help either. Sorry to let you down.

I completely understand your problem, I'm in the same situation. I haven't heard about SoR remake's release though, it sounds awesome. I'm going to take a look at it.

Streets of Rage Remake would be awesome, if they could get the damage, and difficulty right, and clear out some of the bugs (like losing two lives when you fall in a pit)

Well then, I encourage you to kill that damn Yamato. I know it's sometimes hard (I mean lazy-ing) to program dancing while playing good, but I think that's the last time you will have to, so don't give up. REPOST EDIT : Ok now, I'm sorry if I may sound rude, but I want Yamato taken down fast. I WANT MY TAS OF SOR3 SO BAD I'LL BE MAD!

Don't worry, I would like this TAS done as much as the next person, but it's interesting that it was this whole ordeal that inspired me to do a Streets of Rage 3 geamerip in the first place. So you see, there's inspiration from this yet to be seen.
