Oooh! Oooh! I want to play too! How about this chart, which is from 2005? The source being OECD. Finland 44.6% for the average wage. Denmark 41.4% for the average wage. Belgium 55.4% for the average wage.

Same source as Inzult, but with pretty graphics: Single worker, no kids (Sweden #4, Finland #7, Denmark #9) Family, 2 kids (Sweden #2, Finland #6, Denmark #12) Another one, same source (OECD Revenue Statistics) Total taxation as % of GDP (Sweden #1, Denmark #2, Finland #3) If nothing else, I think we can at least agree that both Sweden, Denmark and Finland have very, very high taxes. Now, I'd rather hear some more interesting things about different countries, instead of taxes...

New Mexico is nice. At least, anywhere between Chama and Cimmaron (which is where I have been) Weather/Nature: in ten miles you can go from beautiful mountain forests and streams to hot arid desert. The humidity rarely rises above 20% in either case. In the mountains the summers don't get much more than 85F (sorry), and during winter you might not be able to get out your door because of the snow. Politics: I don't really know, unless you wanted to know how it relates to steam trains. Infrastructure: Roads are scenic and generally good quality. If you want to ride a train, either you are a tourist or you are the engineer. Airport in Albequerque. Energy: Wind or solar or coal. You decide. Liberties: It's a free country, right? Besides, if you live where I am describing the government tends to not really even know you exist. Language: English, also a little bit of Cherokee. Economy: Tourism. Sell stuff to idiot americans, that's all there is to it. I guess my biggest selling point is the scenery, but it seems you already have that where you live. And pretty much the entire state has that small town feel, which would be a plus for me. If you like I could show you pictures of the scenery.

"Genuine self-esteem, however, consists not of causeless feelings, but of certain knowledge about yourself. It rests on the conviction that you — by your choices, effort and actions — have made yourself into the kind of person able to deal with reality. It is the conviction — based on the evidence of your own volitional functioning — that you are fundamentally able to succeed in life and, therefore, are deserving of that success." - Onkar Ghate

Not as cool as in Japan though. Finland has recently developed a tradition of milking out the old technology as long as people pay for it (and they do), and only then introducing newer technology. (This only applies at the market. Nokia exports better phones than they sell domestically.)

True. But all of them are for the inner market, and they become essentially useless if you leave the coverage zone. That being said, the SIM is hardcoded into them, just like in the early to middle 90s.

But if Truncy would move to Japan, it wouldn't matter.

Right, it would only matter if he decides to come back. :)
