You hate FF7? It's just like a much better version of FF3 with better graphics. The esper system was changed to the materia system. It is still very similar, but better and easier to understand. Game is awesome.
Um, sorry, but in 6, the characters learned the magic, the magicite didn't learn the magic. I didn't like 7 or 8. My favorites are 5, 9, 3, and 6 in that order (not counting 11 or the un-numbered ones).

You said that 7 used basically the same system as 6.. and I was sayign that it was completely different because it ws character-based and not item-based. In 7, you can level up skills using one character, then drop those skills onto another character that has a much lower level, and, for example, kill every boss in the game with a level 1 party if you felt like it. Without having too much trouble. Sure, such things are also possible in FF5 (low-level record is 2/2/3/3 that I know of), but you still can't change a character's skillset like that like you can in 7, which I don't like.

Yeah! Tureddo haijakku shiyo! Sen ji gurai no kanji o benkyou shita ga, yoku imi shika benkyou shinakatta. Takusan kanji no "puronanshieeshan" ga dekinai.
(Curse JWPce's lack of furigana, I can't type this prettily and understandable for the kanji-imparired at the same time. :p Ah, well, two lines work...) 千字は確かに僕が知っているよりだ。ワープロがなければ、こんなに沢山を書くのは僕に無理だと思う。 Sen ji ha tashikani boku ga shitte iru yori da. Waapuro ga nakereba, konna ni takusan o kaku no ha boku ni muri da to omou. Also, I think the word your looking for is 読み, not プロナンシエーシャン, though it's not a bad guess :)
So, we have another Japanese speaker, Xerophyte. Do you study at the Japanese program in Gothenburg?
Heh, good guess. I spent two semestres studying japanese at Göteborg Uni, not too long ago. I've since migrated to physics, though, and swiftly forgotten most my japanese. It's a fun language, though, and not quite as difficult as most people think. Alien, yes, but not difficult. [/Thread hijacking, part 2!] Sounds like I'll have to procure a translated copy of FF3, then. Wouldn't want to miss a good game...

FF6 rules and I have spent all too much time playing it :). I love the esper system and all the hidden secrets (paladin shield is soo great ^^). It is clearly my favourite FF game. Second favourite is FF5. I loved the job mastering system!
