How about one with Sonic burrowing through a level as a tribute to Nitsuja's raping of Ice Cap zone in Sonic 3 & Knuckles?
If I did a Sonic one, it would probably be of him staring in horror at his ankles having melted down into a horrific meld of liquified flesh, blood, smoke, and, er, the fact that I've never drawn Sonic before, haha. I might do it.

Hey, I'm entitled to criticism like everything else. He may have been a tad jumpy about it, but I can't help that.

Pretty much the long and short of it. Being flung through the air at ten trillion miles per hour because your head is stuck in the ceiling is funny in every language.

Oh, man! This is a good idea, and I know just how to do it! Just not now. Last day of school. Nearly 2am. Whoops.

I've really enjoyed them. Super Metroid also has a few tricks that would probably make interesting gifs.

Unfortunately, Super Metroid doesn't have a lot of run-definitive glitches to be portrayed, rather than a myriad of relatively small tricks and optimizations. The only such tricks I would imagine being funny as a gif are arm-pumping and probably short charge (because mockball will look too much like Zelda 2, lol).

Yep, that's why I suggested it. :)

Megaman sucks and that game doesn't represent what a TAS really is.
I am completely puzzled. Every now and then someone will come up with a strange idea of what a TAS is and isn't and will then make a big fuss about it, and some people will jump on the bandwagon (remember that enormous thread where some people were claiming that TASes have nothing to do with speed?) What puzzles me is that these ideas are clearly in contradiction with practice, yet they still get some support. Now, here's one of the oldest, most original definitions of a TAS: "This is a sparring program. Similar to the programmed reality of the Matrix. It has the same basic rules – rules like gravity. What you must learn is that these rules are no different than the rules of a computer system. Some of them can be bent. Others – can be broken." ― Morpheus, The Matrix This quotation was put at the beginning of the Common Tricks page because it so beautifully describes what a TAS is: It bends and breaks the internal physics of the game, usually by exploiting glitches in the system, thus achieving feats that would otherwise be seemed as impossible. Just like in the Matrix. The Megaman TAS is a beautiful example of this. The physics of the game are broken in the most ingenuous ways in order to achieve speed. That's the whole spirit of TASing.

Or enemy boosting. There are a few, but I do agree a lot of them wouldn't work.

Here are a few ideas, not sure how well they would work though: Castlevania - hitting enemies over and over getting lots of ridiculous treasures, each more outlandish than the last? (holy water, double shot, triple shot, invincibility jar, treasure chest, Cadillac, etc.) Gradius - pilot being nauseus Bionic Commando - super fast grappling, followed by guards reacting much too late? SMB2 - Rock repeatedly landing on CrawgRip? SDW - juggling spring/key/p-switch/shell/goomba/toad/Cadillac? <adelikat> well in dragon warrior 4, I critical hit myself and die in order to save travel time <adelikat> walk up to a slime, pull out sword, stab self into head (edited for more funniness)

I was thinking a guy with a whip standing on a ceiling looking very bored as "LEVEL UP" flashes up over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and...

Perhaps the "walk through stairs" glitch, shown in the glitched "Zelda - A link to the Past" video? That could look pretty funny. If made a little longer, the GIF could also show how he reaches a surprised Ganon that way, and just passing him, to receive the Triforce. Just an idea.

For Sonic, he should first crouch down for whatever reason, suddenly jump because Tails scares him or whatever, and then suddenly teleport through walls somewhere else.

perhaps the funny way Mario (64) climbs stairs could produce a tas-representative gif. I know you guys see what I mean. and the game is very well known. if there are several candidates, why not setting up a "fanart" page on this site, where fans could submit funny stuff, like alternative site images ?

I am a newbie to TAS runs and I got the megaman glitch...I only saw my first megaman movie a couple of days ago. (never really liked the classic megaman.) The two images in this topic are funny as hell...a mario 64 one would be so similar but with mario on the but... also you could do a one with mario on his arse and megman on his head racing.

ALttP: Link wobbling around to move faster, then stopping to puke Super Metroid: the mockball. Samus starting to run, jumping at full speed, looking downwards.. just before reaching the floor, she pulls in her legs.. bouncing and rolling over the floor like a biker who just lost his bike. While she manages to pass through the barrier in time, she looks utterly devastated after stopping. But yeah, I guess that'd be difficult to draw.

For me, the less things make sense in "real life", the better they work for this idea. For example, the mockball almost works in real life in my mind. It makes sense, it's smooth and cool. Mega Man sticking his head into the ceiling doesn't mean "ramming speed Mr. Sulu" in real life, so it becomes funnier when you add the real life part of "ouch, my head is inside a wall". The problem is that in Super Metroid, most of the tricks are still fluid looking. I can't think of a good idea for that game.

You need a Gradius ship blowing up Arby's and flying toward a restaurant called "Joes."

"I'm so hungry, I coul eat at Arby's!" It would be great if we let The Kins, who has a current batting average of 1.0, decide what he thinks is funny. Puttin' mah faith in Da Kins right nya.

I enjoyed both images. (I never saw the old Megaman one.) I'd say the Megaman one has got to be great if I think it's better than the Zelda one (especially since, you know, I get emotionally attached to my runs and stuff.) If/when you make more know that I'll be yet another person looking forward to seeing it. :)

Honestly, If Bisquit wants to use these for anything (forum header, speedrun intro etc.) I'll happily alter them for such. Apart from little things like this, I'm not quite sure that TAS runs can generate quite enough fanart to necessitate a page of their own.

It was the same as the current one, except the legs and helmet weren't as good.

There will be more - I have four months or so of holidays starting today, and these only take an hour or two to make each.

Summer holidays in the middle of winter? That's crazy you're crazy. But make as many as you like. I'm finding them very enjoyable :)
