According to AndyD, it works only when the screen is in transition. It causes enemies to move during the transition, allowing very slight manipulation of enemies. Edit: New trick discovered, saves 124 frames at the tunnel room. WIP.

Sorry, but I got no idea what was that about.

This kind of attention for this game is long overdue. :D I'll need to watch it again to try and work it out for myself, but how the hell are you breaking blocks while crouching?!

mugg did you try using the pause glitch with that method too? as you have to wait a few frames for the fox to reach wario before he goes on fire, if you used the pause glitch you probably wouldn't even have to run across the top

The fox starts setting Wario on fire sooner if you don't pause the game. It doesn't make a difference if the fox gets a bit closer. Running on the top of the room means you have to jump across the water only once. Jumping somehow interrupts the time until Wario becomes a flame. I couldn't find the memory address for that timer, so maybe it works a bit differently than I think.

http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/296041355/WL2-AndyD%2Cjlun2%2CMugg%20%283%29.vbm Saved some frames in the high room with the platforms. 452 frames saved in total. I lost 2 frames in the last room though, somehow. But I didn't try the published run's input (again). I didn't investigate this much but maybe changing the direction before getting stomped might help. Please take a look at the rooms and tell me if they are OK. I will need to take a look at the last room again though.

Managed to save 4 frames by the end of the stage. Also, at the room after the FireFox, saved 2 frames but lost them due to a frame rule. WIP

As a general tip, try to use extra frames for entertainment (using Bashing while moving up on platforms). Something strange happened when I was messing around. I clipped through some blocks after taking damage. http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/1560666692/WL2-AndyD%2Cjlun2%2CMugg%20-%20Damage.vbm New WIP (with implemented 32 frame improvement): http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/611545738/WL2-AndyD%2Cjlun2%2Cmugg%20NEW%20WIP.vbm Saved 512 frames in total. I don't know how to deal with the tunnel where I ended the movie. I don't really know how the new glitch that was used earlier works...

if you used the glitch there, it would probably be slower

Um... no it wouldn't. edit: I take it the glitch earlier involved keeping the "rolling status". So one can't do this glitch by just approaching a tunnel with stomping. I'm going to finish this movie soon.

Also, before you enter the last boss room, please postthe WIP here, in case of possible improvement, as the last boss can't be hexed in.

http://npshare.de/files/3c151fd3/WL2-AndyD%2Cjlun2%2Cmugg%20NEW%20WIP%20-%20Kopie.vbm I saved 724 frames ( I think). Sorry for not posting it earlier. I was having trouble with the final boss manipulation. It's really unfortunate that one can't make the battle entertaining as they wish but have to rely on random movements for luck-manipulation. The best 'boss energy 2' value I got for the first 'round' was 181 whereas the published run's was 179. If you don't find any improvements, please feel free to work on the final boss. Good luck!

we really need to find out how how wario's movements effect the boss, so we can get the best combination

I've seem to have found a way to get out of bounds. Is it useful? I'll post a WIP of it after I clean it up a bit. Edit: WIP It seems that if done on the other side, we might get to skip stages. More testing needed. Edit 2: Saving there causes wierd results, like infinite spawning coins, water patches, etc. Edit 3: Ending a stage, saving, or entering any room may cause resetting. Also, somehow managed to freeze the game.

Out of Bounds Movies: 1. Wining Out of Bounds 2. Glitch World + Freeze 3. Reset Cursed Wario 4. Opcode Error More to appear. Btw, most of the time, if you save, it'll reset and start you back at the beggining. However, there are several places that can be saveable. Also, the majority of the doors that you stumble upon in the "Glitched World" seem to either reset the game, or takes you to some room. Lastly, if the Reset Warning could be triggered like this, maybe the credits can be too?

Youtubed. I hope you don't mind. This is a really great find! This OoB glitch seems to be similar to SML2 OoB so I'm going to investigate this later. EDIT: This OoB glitch works differently compared to SML2, as WL2 keeps track of things differently (loading room data (?) rather than being able to access every memory address directly). I got into a bonus room after which the game resets itself. I also got the game to reset itself by entering a certain spot. Those opcode errors may appear because the game tries to rewrite ROM, which isn't allowed, but there are also other reasons. I didn't find anything overly interesting yet, but I wish you good luck with your research.

In order to get stuck into a wall, bash-jump towards a wall and move away from the wall for one frame, then towards the wall on the next frame, when close to the wall. Your x-positioning has to be optimal for this. If you can't get it to work, you will need to start jumping towards the wall from a different x-position. For testing purposes, it's good enough to start bashjumping from different pixel-positions: B,AB, , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , ,<,> (if the wall is to the right of Wario) if it didn't work: Move towards the wall 1 pixel and repeat. You might also want to watch the input of one of the WIPs that were posted.

AndyD, I found these address that might help with Walljumping. It changes (sometimes) depending on Wario's x position. C660 - Signed (2 bytes) Also, Wario's air? and status addresses C657 - Signed (1 byte) C750 - Signed (1 byte) The frame before C750 turns to 30, move the opposite direction for one frame. Next, move towards the wall. It sometimes won't work, so C660 might help you know where you are. BTW, I just discovered that the "reset" glitch gets rid of Load times, so rooms and cutscences look wierd. I'll post a WIP about it later.

The OoB area can't be reached in the first room as far as I tested.
