That guy is an idiot.
He asked for every batch of every type of candy to be tested, for no reason other then its creation involved milk in china. He has no evidence to sugest that those candies were affected.
Another alarmist attention whore.
Extreme, yes. But, would it be so horrible for at least ONE batch was tested (with actual testing results posted for the public to view)? I don't think so.
Let me see if I understand this correctly: *None* of the mentioned products have been tested for safety in the US, the same products have been banned in many other countries because of containing dangerous substances, and you think this guy is an *idiot* because he demands that the products be tested also in the US?
Well, I can only say that our definition of "idiot" is rather different.

He admits that the products were deemed safe by the FDA. He whines about the tests not being public, but that's not standard procedure, so his complaints are neither here nor there.
Watch the video and wait for his first piece of actual evidence, and you will realize all he found is a common food additive in a food product, and a label that said made in china.
He is an idiot for ignoring the fact that the only tests done of the candy deemed it safe. We have one FDA test that says its safe, and one fat idiot that has dreamed up a conspiracy based on no evidence that says its not. Believe whichever side you want.
The results of the tests should be public domain, yet they haven't been published. Exactly how has the FDA proven that any tests have been made in the first place? Is it really idiocy to ask for some test results, which should be public domain anyways?
So, what you are saying, is that there is no possibility that our candy could be tainted? Funny, since China has admitted (or at least the press has reported on) the fact that there ARE melamine problems with their milk supplies... milk supplies that are, among other things, used for making Chinese candy.
Now, if there was not proof of melamine in the country "the fat guy" is referencing, fuck him. But there are many documented cases, so the argument gains weight.
Now, why would whole countries be pulling candy off their shelves sent from China? Just for shits and giggles? No. Evidence of a possible poison in the candy? Yes. Now, why exactly are we calling him an alarmist again?
The US should, at the very least, test SOME candy and release the tests to the public, as well as pulling said candy from shelves IMMEDIATELY if the candy has traces of the bad stuff.
You can complain all you want about it, but I have seen nothing here that is straight up "alarmist" about how he is acting.

None of their other tests are, why are these tests different? People act like information that is not in the public domain must not exist.
I'm not saying there is no possibility of contamination, because you cant prove a universal negative. All I'm saying is that he has no evidence what so ever.
they did. Its what the FDA does. They just don't publish it.
Here is a list of countries: Bangladesh, Bhutan, Brunei, Burundi, Cameroon, Chile, Colombia, Dominican Republic, Gabon, India, Ivory Coast, Maldives, Mali, Nepal, Papua New Guinea, Paraguay, South Korea, Suriname, Tanzania, Togo, and the United Arab Emirates.
Notice anything?
He acts like the US government is the only one stupid enough to import from china, but you see any common thread between the countries on that list?
I wonder how many tests the FDA of Mali did before imposing that ban. That, or they may have imposed a ban in order to avoid the need for the tests.
So the question is, which do you trust more? the FDA standards in the US (which deemed this food safe) or the reasoning of the countries on that list, who may not have done any tests at all.
bottom line:
US Government agencies that deemed it safe: 1
Evidence suggesting its not: 0
Unless you think the Ivory coast knows something we don't, their bans are just a response to fear, not actual reason.
How about this, lets go ahead and spread the word, and hale this fat idiot as the hero he is as soon as he can site even a single shred of evidence that his chocolate is tainted.
No evidence whatsoever? Then what do you call this:
1) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2008_Chinese_milk_scandal
2) The FDA has not published *any* test results of such Chinese products imported to the US.
He is not even saying the products are tainted. He is simply demanding the issue #2 above to be corrected.

Your link there shows that testing -is- being done, by industry, and governmental organizations alike.
This all centers on unpublished tests from the FDA. He wants them public, which is understandable, but I think its just plain silly to assume the tests weren't done if the results are not public. At best, he is making a mountain out of a mole hill.

I guess was too young when this was on TV and I never saw no rerun... so I hardly remember a few parts.

Anyway, there's everything you need... a bike, emergencies, aligators, parachutes, Super Scope 6, Super Ninja, Anglefish, and a great invention and it's brilliant creator.
And check out the reaction of this nice old lady here:
"Genuine self-esteem, however, consists not of causeless feelings, but of certain knowledge about yourself.
It rests on the conviction that you — by your choices, effort and actions — have made yourself into the
kind of person able to deal with reality. It is the conviction — based on the evidence of your own volitional
functioning — that you are fundamentally able to succeed in life and, therefore, are deserving of that success."

Nice remix of the Gradius theme, but I couldn't quite follow what happened in the video... All I saw was a guy pushing a box in front of some cubes while the music was playing. :P
