Is it really faster to just walk through the frogs than it is to kill them? Also, I really think you should check if jumping instead of running off of ledges is faster; it certainly looks like it should be underwater. Bubbleman's really freakin' laggy. :\ Might want to try to minimize the amount of time you have metal blades onscreen.

Hmm...you pause against the second angler fish for damage. At this point you could switch weapons again to Quick Boomerang, and kill the second two frogs with it, then pause later to switch back to Metal Blade. That should eliminate a pause, right? Certainly looks better than last time, though. What's the frame improvement for this stage?

Finally done with the MM1 part and can start with MM2. I am 46.3 sec ahead then the previous full-run post and 69.7sec faster then my last run. Just a quick update before I start with MM2 ;)

I wonder if anyone remembers when I discussed on IRC my opinion that the composer for this game probably didn't have the original music ripped from the NES code and therefore had to transcribe it by listening to the games...
Quoting a 4-years-old post, but whatever. Just want to mention that the arrangements for the Wily Wars music are, in fact, very good, but due to the limitations imposed on a Meganet game, the FM instruments that can be used in the game are limited, making the music sound much worse than it could be.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8ebHPCM_XtE Here's the new route Guts-Cut-Elec-Ice-Fire-Bomb The reason I don't immediately do elec man is that the time wasted going through cutmans stage w/o the magnet beam is less than the time wasted on beating elec man with the megabuster.

Hmm, does it really save time to keep switching back to Rush Coil upon taking a hit after you don't need it anymore? Did you try switching to P for the rest of the level instead?

Couldn't you luck-manipulate so Magnet Man only does his magnet attraction attack? Also, you wasted time while pausing while using Rush Coil; Rush did the same time-wasting animation every pause, which could be skipped by switching to the pea-shooter during the pause.

In Hardman's stage at the split, isn't it faster to take the low path, thanks to the extended slide and lack of a Met bulldozer enemy to deal with? Also, I think you could probably have dealt with the big cats in Topman's stage faster; you delayed shooting to jump, but doesn't the magnet missile go up quickly enough anyway? That would save on waiting for Megaman to land before you can jump again to continue through the level. Otherwise looked fairly good. They butched Topman's music though. :(

I tested both routes. Yes you have an extended slide but you also have a LONG ladder to climb, there is a Metool that will inevitably hit you on the bottom route, and there are also 3 small energy pellets you can't avoid. The top route is faster.

I noticed that while making the AVI.

Original 8 bit Mega man music will always be better. I do like some of the Genesis tunes though.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rh5m6LLa-fM Here's some more Mega man 3. I want to get through mega man wily wars soon so I might finish 3 off and then do all 3 in addition to the wily tower.

Frenom was right: [Guts --> Elec --> Cut] is faster http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N4xg35VxoO4 Glitching is a fun way to go about doing things. Oh and BTW selecting file 3 then hitting exit is faster than selecting file 1.
