Is there any programs for IPS patching files on Linux? o_o Or do I have to use Wine or something similar? -_-

http://bisqwit.iki.fi/source/chronotools.html Take the latest source code archive, extract util/unmakeips.cc , discard everything else, compile unmakeips.cc, use.

I just used wine + lunarIPS. No hassle compiling, no need to install a JVM.

As long as this is turning into an orgy of solutions... http://www.zophar.net/utilities/patchutil.html includes more, even a perl implementation which is even easier than wine+lunar. :)

what really should happen is that people should stop using ips because its so obsolete.

Your post is redundant. If you're going to call it obsolete at least provide an alternative, maybe a link or two. Some older hacks (SDW) use ips. Which I'm assuming this topic is related to.
