I had a look. Initially I played up to Cold Man from the beginning and the CD's were right there the first time. What I actually discovered was that those CD's don't appear until you enter the save prompt. No clue why, but merely entering the save menu (even without saving) will trigger the appearance of the CD's. I never intended to enter the save prompt in the first place. It's really easy to go in there when you don't want it to. Good thing. :)

Wait, save prompt? What do you mean? You mean the save prompt when you beat a stage?

When you beat a stage, all you do is select save game and the game asks which slot you want to save and then exit without saving. Then the CD's appear just like that.

I have made a No Damage Time Attack of Rockman & Forte with Rockman. http://www.geocities.jp/crystalvsmk3/RandF.zip Use Snes9x improvement7 to play this movie, and use WIP1 timing. This movie cannot use snes9x-1.43-WIP1-win32 to play, it has some problem in Magicman's stage. And in Groundman's stage,I think it will little quick. http://www.geocities.jp/crystalvsmk3/GroundManStage.avi

Yes, very clever (as AngerFist said). I wonder if it works with Forte/Bass also.
Which run should I encode next? :)

Do I, being a resident of the U.S.A., have to do something special to get the files in those two links? As far as I can tell I have no access to the files. Also, since my computer hates me, it isn't displaying the japanese text at all... so I can't navigate the site properly. Curse you Windows! Curse you! EDIT: Thanks Maza. That worked. ^_^

Wren, do as I did: copy (or type) the url to your address bar and press enter.

vsmk3, I watched your run and that was awsome! You really showed us how you can also do the "doublejumps" with Megaman (with both Ice Wall and Lightning Bolt). I saw only few minor flaws which maybe could be improved with few frames. I think you should submit it. It's entertaining and very fast. Plus I think we need a Rockman version of Rockman & Forte ;) Either way I'm going to encode an .avi of this (at least for myself) once I have the time for it.

That was a good trick in the Ground Man Stage. :) FractalFusion: I'll play with that some more today.

It's a good run for a lesser game of the Mega Man series.

I think vsmk3 said to use Snes9x improvement7 (the site's patched version).

Too bad this game wasn't named Mega Man (number) and had no U.S. release at the time. Otherwise it would have been so popular.

FractalFusion: I'm using improvement9. It selects all options on the movie playback dialog when I select the movie. Should I trust the autodetect on this? (Tenguman is pretty far in, I don't want to do this with trial and error)

I just don't think the programmers were very creative about their enemies. Frankly, I find Pirate Man or Magic Man sort of lame. I also have mixed feelings for the graphics. On the one hand, the animation is perhaps superior to any other SNES games. However, because it's so overwhelming, somehow I feel it doesn't suit a game as much as it would a cartoon--but maybe that's just because I'm more used to the NES scale of things (MM7 irritates me too).

I started TAS with Rockman. Coldman dead, 43 frames faster than Megafrost's _old_ WIP. If anyone can find flaws, please let me know. http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/898/ I still don't know if I should buy something from the shop.

I also played intro stage with Forte. I abused a glitch hero of the day found and I got 5 shots in Green Devil instead of 4 on one jump. Gained 69 frames on boss and 35 on stage. 104 frames faster than Gigafrost's in total. http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/904/

Yea that looks great so far Bablo, nice to see that glitch put to good use. Do you plan on doing a run for each character, or are you just going to do a rockman run?
They're off to find the hero of the day...

I'll concentrate more on Rockman since there already is a Forte run. And I'm still not sure about Forte movements... I saved few frames in almost every room, probably because I dashed on floor more. Otherwise Forte is WAY easier than Rockman. So if I get sick of Rockman, I'll make some progress with Forte. :P Edit: Couple rooms done with Rockman in Burnerman stage: www.soldatcentral.net/bablo/rusinat/RMnF.smv

5 instead of 4? Sounds interesting. Too bad I can't check it out here at work.

http://www.geocities.jp/crystalvsmk3/RF.zip http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/969/Rockman%26Forte.smv Still no death and no damage, faster 96 seconds than before. If use death glith and takes damage,it's possible Rockman can as fast as Forte(even more faster).
