I didn't think I'd get a reply this fast. o.O Thank you! I tested out all of Megafrost's tips and they work wonderfully. I also discovered an easier way to cancel out a slide with left + right at the same time. This will help tremendously for gaining the best time as possible. I'm not sure if my sanity will last to make a version 2, but I'll try. :P On to Tengu Man.

Gigafrost, any progress on the forte video?
Do not try to bend the spoon, that's impossible. Instead only try to realize the truth. What Truth? There is nospoon. Then you will see it is not the spoon that changes, it is only yourself

I think he already gave up, or hardly works on it. As of that, thanks to Megafrost's new tips he gave me, I have defeated Tengu Man. http://www.sharebigfile.com/index.php?download=3cPwMKckTD3wsQybb6Wk

Nope. I've got two issues that pretty much made the run seem incredibly intimidating... -The second half of Dyamo Man's stage should probably be redone. Basically, I ended the level with one extra Tengu energy. Since I already used the T-dash liberally where I would be able to gain the full effects of using it, that means using the extra energy to knock only a few frames off. Also, that naturally means redoing the boss fight as well, which was tedious. -Afterwards, I'm in the final stages fighting what are, imo, some of the most annoying and boring bosses in the Mega Man series (mostly in the 2nd stage, though). So, after fretting about those, I drifted from project to project, not making any progress on this. ^.^;;

I'll have to agree with you Gigafrost. Personally I've beaten the game with Forte but never got passed Pirate man with Rockman. Theres some of the most annoying and just plain stupid boss fights in King's palace. I usually try to grit my teeth and try my best like I did with Ground man because I HATE his stage. -_- Please watch teh Tengu man vid. Its my best one yet. ;_; Much thanks to Megafrost. =D

It's quite cumbersome. The levels have just the right length and complexity to make it take a while and the final bosses weren't particularly fun in the first place (for me, anyways). Well, that's what made it difficult for me and is some of what kept it from being my favorite Megaman game, anyways.

I suppose that, since I've had such a good long break, I might be okay with trying to continue my run. Although since my biggest worry atm is having to do half of Dynamo Man's level all over again, I'll continue from the last point I was at. However, if somebody else wants to correct those problems with my run and continue you have my permission. Supposedly here's the link to my last version (so you don't have to look two pages back...): http://www.kraftfam.org/~erk/nesvideos/RnF.zip Anyways, the possible problems with the Dynamo Man stage are... 1) There's one tengu-charge left because there's no one place where it can be used to its fullest. In other words, it can be used somewhere for a few more frames, however it has to be around the mid-boss part (if I recall). 2) The Dynamo Man battle could probably be a couple of frames faster by better dealing with the recharge sequence. In particular, it's probably possible to jump a few frames lower, still take out the rechargers, and properly hit him as early as possible when he lands (I had to delay 2 to 4 frames, I think).

Yeah, I'd really like to see a completed run for this game. A run for each character would be even better, but just one is fine for now.

I've played Rockman & Forte twice through (with snes and gba) and your work looks very nice! The way you use the ice block ability is awsome and really seams to help. Keep ut the good work!

Has anyone considered switching to the GBA version? I suggest it mainly because the latest VBA is far superior to SNES 9x which would make the production much smoother. Not sure what other changes there are.

Well, the screen would be a little smaller, wouldn't it?

The sound would be worse too.

I say stick with snes. Both of you already have a pretty good start there, albeit the king/wily stages suck.

If anyone is interested, I started makeing TAS of Megaman & Bass in GBA. I'm playing with Megaman and currently in Cold Man's stage (first actual boss stage). Since this is my very first TAS, don't expect too much of it because i'm doing this just for fun and there fore i'm not checking each step if that could have been done few frames faster. I'll upload my work to somewhere when i have done a little bit more of it (say, two actual boss levels or something like that).

Sounds good. I wonder if there are any differences between the SNES version and the GBA version (apart from the language). Personally, I'd take the SNES version over the GBA, even though it's in Japanese.

Actually there isn't any (noticeable) differences between the SNES and the GBA versions... In my opinion, as Maza has already begun a run on the GBA and that he has almost finished it (I watched his WIP and it's quite good...) it would be useless to run it on SNES... Though I also think that more people would be able to see the SNES version of it as SNES emulation is more popular and SNES Roms are easier to get than GBA ones... Edit : Go and see Maza's WIP if you can !!!

Thanks for your support Xaphan ;) I think the only difference between snes and gba versions is that in gba version there is "now saveing..." in few screens. Although I'm not absolutely sure about this since it has been a very long time since i played the snes version. I have just beaten King Jeter (or what ever that that flying boss is called) but I'm not going to upload it to you yet. I'll upload it once i have beaten the whole level. sry for this if it's disapointing someone to see my replies without any visual progress. :)
