My obvious thoughts are that most people would tend to choose Ryu or Ken mostly for there variety moves in order to make oponents jump towards them and nail them with a dragon punch. Although weaker in the more up to date games due to oponents having a multidude of moves to be able to counter. My personal favourite to use is Chun-Li, mainly becuase of her long range of her kicks and the fact she can jump off the edges off the screen. Also her swinging-bird-kick always seems to come top when in direct competion with Blanka, E-Honda, Ryu, Ken, M Bison and Balrogs charge attacks. Personally my favourite thing to do is make your oponent see stars, corner them, throw them and then use the lighting kick to ware off more of there energy.

Had a lot of practice with Guy, but I'm intuitively better with Cammy, despite not actually knowing her entire movelist. (I think it's because of teh boobs.) So she's my choice for the entire series, since I'm not fond of any of the other SSF2 characters.

If we include all Street Fighters, I would say Hokuto and Cycloid Beta from the EX series. She has some fun moves like the auto-counter, and Kiren-Eki is an excellent hyper. The cycloid has an amazing mix of moves, unfortunately Gouga is a hyper, when it's merely a super for Garuda. :) If not the EX series, I would say Karin. Huge rush combinations and counterattacks too. Go me. If you mean the classic one, Sagat. It's the only way I can win. :)

In fighting games, I only ever choose the coolest-looking character of the bunch, then proceed to suck more than technically possible at the game. As for Street Fighter, either Ryu or Ken (the one that did not have yellow hair) was my favorite, mainly because it was the only one I knew how to and could throw a projectile with.

As one of the few board members old enough to remember when Street Fighter II was a new arcade game, I have to admit that at first, none of us knew how to do any moves. This was during the dark ages of arcade information, where there were no FAQs unless someone wrote an article in a magazine. And something like that wouldn't show up for months after the game came out! Given that restriction, I always chose Dhalsim because his stretchy limbs would get the better of most beginners. Also, his close Fierce Punch was a 2-hit headbutt which did major damage and often dizzied the opponent. Once we all learned how to do special moves, Dhalsim was less appealing and I switched to Ryu/Ken, whomever was available. Remember, in the original SFII, there were no palate swaps or mirror matches. As soon as Championship Edition rolled around, I was all about M. Bison. I tend to enjoy playing as the bad guy. Hence, Akuma was also a favorite when he became a regular.

My favorite Street Fighter 2 character is Suitless Samus.

Sakura just so others had to endure being beaten senseless by a school girl wearing a seifuku. In SF2 I really enjoyed rebounding off of peoples heads with Chunli... lightning kick was great too.
This signature is much better than its previous version.

I thought we were talking about Street Fighter II. Okay then, The Blob was also a favorite of mine. I especially liked the "eat your enemy whole" move.

Colossus is a personal favorite. Overshadowed, however, by Gambit.

SF2 is the bombbb! My favorite fighting game of all time! Ryu/Ken: Took me a while to get all their special moves motions down consistently. But now I rule with them. Fireball spamming and shoryuken countering FTW. Guile: He was my favorite character when I first started playing the game. I love backfisting to snuff fireballs. Dhalsim: He has a sick distance game. Once you memorize which kicks/punches to use in which situations, you will improve a lot with Dhalsim. Rarely I even get to throw a full-screen slow fireball, teleport behind my opponent and then cheese them with a throw. E. Honda: I love playing as Honda. You constantly need to find a way to safely stay close to your opponent. Once you knock them down or corner them, crossup with the body splash then mixup between throwing them on landing, and hundred-hand slapping them for massive chip damage. The head-butt also works as a great anti-air move against certain characters. Blanka: I play a very crazy Blanka game. Always fun! Vega: I make good use of his long-reaching claws and mix up the landings of the claw dives.

In Alpha 3/Zero 3, Sakura, Rainbow Mika and Juni. In EX series, Nanase and Skullomania. Vs Marvel Series, Juggernaut, Blackheart/Mephisto and Spiderman.

I like to play as Sakura in Pocket Fighter. The umbrella uppercut has nice horizontal range, and the flailing arms dash is wonderful for boosting attack levels early.
I like my "thank you"s in monetary form.
