Aw man, I'd hoped that there was some way to get the 'P' in the Creepy Steeple the first time you are there, so that you wouldn't have to go back and forth so much. No way of getting there with Goombella Buffering or Flurrie SuperSliding?

You must not be familiar with how a Flurrie superslide works. Goombella Buffering doesn't work because the loading zone has a solid wall around it on all sides, so I can't go out of bounds.

Yes, I am very unfamiliar with it. How you can TAS this game is beyond me. Still, it's a shame it costs so much time going back and forth. Let's hope a new glitch is found soon!

Chapter 6 is completed, currently working on the intermission. Encode will be cut off at the beginning of the intermission because of a crazy new strat that I want to showcase when the final run is released. The Garnet Star was grabbed in 3:01:36.367. It's about 35 minutes and 10 seconds ahead of my previous TAS and about 33 minutes and 52 seconds ahead of the WR at this points. New strats will save about a minute on top of that quickly. Encode later today hopefully.

Are you going to make a commentary of that encode? I missed it during the last one. Also, I'm assuming something special is going on with Chapter 5 because you haven't posted anything about that. Anyway, thank you for the hard work as always.

I know this has nothing to do with the TAS, but where exactly does Bowser spawn after the battle with Grodius? Before he drops, is the character model above just offscreen standing there? Or is it like some of the NPCs found in Rogueport OoB underneath the area that only appear when triggered? Speaking of which, how many "secret" npcs/objects are there hidden from view like this?

I have no idea but I can find that out later :P There aren't any secret NPCs. Any NPCs stored OOB are used at some point. I know my estimation was way off... The TAS will be done within the next couple of weeks. I'll probably spend a full week processing the encode and editing the video with some cool features like a timer, HP, FP, BP, badges, etc. A side note: Because of a new strat, it turns out I didn't have to buy an earlier item. This wastes about 2 seconds. It doesn't look too sloppy since I previously needed 2 of the same item and now I only need 1. Get hype!

You can use a custom texture to work-around it. I'm not sure if I can find it any more, though.

Having some problems with Dolphin. Regular 4.0.2 stops playing my dtm in Chapter 3 and VI count stops going up with a black screen. The a/v sync version crashes when splitting a new frame dump file, but I've done it fine before. Testing to see if it works with audio which would be weird.

the a/v sync problem is usually solved by having to click "dump audio" every time you want to record in 4.0.2. (If i remember correctly)

Great work, loved seeing all of the work coming to fruition, especially what I was able to catch live! Just out of curiosity, was getting the Mega Rush badges to appear a matter of getting the RNG to specific values that you knew based on the drop rate, or was it just pure trial and error? If you just got the hold and drop rates from my guide, I'm not convinced that 1/200 and 1/300 are the actual bases, as it seems like I never got that many items to drop in practice when badge hunting casually for Flower Savers. Then again, the Twilight Trail battles might be a poor test case, as I know the last set of three Clefts can have the wrong item drops assigned to the enemies (Hyper Cleft, Crazy Dayzee, Amazy Dayzee's items on HC, HC, HC set).
