hehe :) I have 3700+ points now, after 21 days playing. I need those nanites... edit: wow, I just got a 324 fields big planet. It seems to be the biggest possible planet size. Also, it has 60° max temp.

319 used to be the biggest reliably reported. Ah, the good old days... (less than a month ago actually <_<)
<Zurreco> if so called professional players cant adapt to every playing field, theyre obviously not that great

I've read on some random googled forum's posts from 2006 that people got planets this big already back then.

Key words: reliably reported. *shrug* Doesn't really matter, it'll take years to use just 250 fields, even if you happen to be playing in a 10x speed beta universe that lasts that long...

It looks menacing nevertheless :P My Wii is now an OGame machine with the occasional rented Wii title and Virtual console buy. It's strange how this game can pull a RTS fan in. edit: Now I've passed the 5k points barrier (after 22 days playing). The real game begins... edit#2: I got hyperspace drive level 4 now (I can make battleships). Also have robotics factory level 10 and computer technologies level 8 (I WANT those nanites!), but it requires massive deuterium to research computer technologies further, so I'm developing deuterium synthetizers on all my colonies. Btw, got 7300+ points now. edit#3: the deut synth on the colonies strategy wasn't enough, so I traded with allies and neighbors so I got comp tech level 9 now and I'm almost with enough resources for level 10. Finally! :D

Man, I screwed up, nanites cost too much. 1 mil metal! I should have invested on mines, since comp tech won't help me to leisurely get resources... Oh well.

I am researching nanites level 1 now, and I`m now waiting for it to end, since it takes 2 whole days... I should be in rank 1300 when it`s done, and able to make bombers and plasma turrets, since I`ve got a lot of time for researching, and I can`t make ships/defensive facilities while the nanite factory is being built. Btw, this was typed on a USB keyboard on the Wii. The last update enabled support for USB keyboards on Wii`s internet channel!

I dont think I will ever catch up to you, FODA... i still have under 3,000 points! I am extremely envious of your USB deal with the wii... i really wish i could try it out, but i traded my wii for my brother's guitar hero + ps2 until mid november... and, believe it or not, i dont regret it (are you gonna get GH3 for wii in october [if that is when it comes out in ... i want to say you are from brazil or argentina... damn my memory]?) EDIT: HUZZAH for reading locations under a person's name! Brazil it is!

My plans for Wii games are mario galaxy, smash brothers, dragon ball budokai tenkaichi 3. Not much money for other games, unfortunatelly. You'll catch up with me when I start defending only, which shouldn't take long. Fleet saving is getting boring. edit: I've just been attacked by the rank #1 player in my universe, and he sent 1065 battlecruisers! I had forgotten to fleet save, and I logged in just to see that his attack was about to strike in 6 minutes! so lucky. But I lost a lot of defensive facilities... and he lost 1 battlecruiser lol..

I would much prefer to mind my own business and just build for awhile... god knows I will be attacked, though :(

Always, always fleetsave, unless you really feel that the risk (fleet go boom) is better than the reward (two, three minutes saved per launch). I learned that lesson the hard way. At least I didn't get upset at the people who attacked me (heck, I even congratulated them quick), because that could have made things ugly (and Graf Zahl aka Candlemass is a fun guy if you get to know him).

Fleet saving is boring, and I've paid the price. He got me. 91 battleships gone, plus many other things. 2.5 mil DF... lost 9000 points. I'm attacking him with a battleship as retaliation! XD no moon this time. :(

Is there any way to get out of fighting? I really would prefer to run pacifist, but even though I created an alliance stating my intentions, some queef decided to attack me, with 200 battles cruisers, no less. grrrr

There's no way to influence that or the outcome of the battle once the enemy fleet reaches you. That's why I quit OGame: there's no such thing as fair fight there, and everyone will be ready to feed on you once your defense has been breached once. For the record, I got to about 17k points before I quit, and it's taken me about a month to earn them.

There are no ways to opt yourself out of the fighting without leaving yourself unable to do any building (vacation mode). There are, however, some strategies to make it so that it's not worth any sane person's time to attack you; the primary strategy being what FODA has gotten tired of: fleetsaving.

unless i missed something, however, there is only one way to fleet save: if you log on before the attack happens (as in foda's case, ~6 minutes or seconds or something)... which leaves me dead in the water due to 24 hours in a day, and ~2 hours max on the game which leaves 22 hours unaccounted for :(

Oh yeah, you have to keep in mind that if you, for some reason, won't be able to see your fleet coming home when it does (due to a power loss, sudden appointment, being out of internet, anything else like that), you may safely consider it dead and your planets robbed by a a top-200 player attacking you with like 200 destroyers or battlecruisers, and then a dozen of small fry parasites cleaning up the remaining resources and defense.

no wonder i keep fucking up at this game! I have things to do other than mine and resource gather like the other top 200 guys! Thank you, moozooh, for opening my eyes to my fatal flaws (and making me understand why i lost 800,000 total resources [idk how, but i do know 100,000 deuterium were suddenly invested in an attacking fleet...])

I have 185 Interplanetary missiles now. I'll get some revenge. Being a miner is the best way to prevent being attacked. If you have something more than 15 battleships, expect an attack coming soon just to recycle your ships... That's why I switched to mining. Now I have 50K points and produce 730k metal/day. edit: oh yeah, I got nanites lvl.2 and intergalactic research network! edit2: I'm on uni34 too. Rank 170 of 17000 players. edit3: now in uni34 I'm Rank 93 of 17.422 players =) I'm basically mining and researching (already got all 8 colonies settled), and I'm not really making a fleet, I'm going straight for the battleships.

doesn't that mean incoming enemy fleets will reach your planet twice as fast? I wouldn't like to play like that, too hardcore in long terms. Ok, I'm attacking now the #3 player in universe 31: Nana (his name was Ari back when he got my 100 battleships, and he was top1). I sent 60 espionage probes on both his planets from where he sends his attacks at me. I'm attacking one of them using a small fleet, am going to destroy his 112 solar satelites and I'm sending missiles at him. Massive amounts. Let's see how that goes. I've sent 40 espionage probes on his moon and it was enough to see even his espionage level, which is only 4 levels higher than mine. But there is absolutely nothing there, so his main fleet is elsewhere... I could even attack his 44 battleships that are on one of those planets.... If I didn't send 50 anti-ballistic missiles on the shipyard queue XD 45 missiles wiped the defense of his home planet. intense battle took place just now: Attacker Majin (2:142:11) Weapons: 100% Shields: 100% Armour: 90% Type Esp.Probe Total 20 Weapons 0 Shields 0 Armour 190 Defender Nana (2:151:5) Weapons: 140% Shields: 130% Armour: 150% Type Sol. Sat Total 113 Weapons 2 Shields 2 Armour 500 result: 13 espionage probes destroyed and a draw (but I got his resources, fleet and defense report)

Ok, mission succesful, I've made him angry! =) no more uni31 for me, since I'm on rank 3's death list. 100% dedicated to uni34 now. Now I'm rank 45 in uni34 =) edit: I'm rank 39 now (over 18000 players) edit: rank 30! How do you guys like the new OGame features? I'm not picky, and it added a lot of "single player" features to the game. In fact, I like it :)
