What I'd be interested in: - Axelay (vertical) - Bubsy - Chrono Trigger (breaking Epoch in 1999) - Road Runner - Rock 'N' Roll Racing - Secret of Mana 2 (horizontal clouds in intro) - Space Megaforce (vertical) - Sparkster - Speedy Gonzales - Uniracers - PC: Turrican II ("broken spaceship" level)
Uniracers' data is written, in bold, on the second post of the first page. Ditto for Sparkster's speed. Rock N' Roll Racing can't be measured in pixels. Bubsy isn't even remotely fast enough. Axelay is both side and vertically scrolling, and thus, doesn't meet the requirements as outlined in the first few posts.

Bubsy can move pretty fast, it just takes a large room to accelreate
"Genuine self-esteem, however, consists not of causeless feelings, but of certain knowledge about yourself. It rests on the conviction that you — by your choices, effort and actions — have made yourself into the kind of person able to deal with reality. It is the conviction — based on the evidence of your own volitional functioning — that you are fundamentally able to succeed in life and, therefore, are deserving of that success." - Onkar Ghate

In Pilotwings 64 you can go 3000 "km/h", using a glitch: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=spW5QmGWqyI I wonder how fast that is in pixels per frame though... I wonder if we need some other way of measuring speed in 3D games.
