These guys are attempting to play through OoT, Majora's Mask, Wind Waker, and Twilight Princess in the span of 48 hours. Though considering after 7 hours they've only just picked up the mirror shield in OoT, they have their work cut out for them. I'm amused, nonetheless. And no, I will not be taking a shoe picture.

A TASed attempt could cut that time by at least 2/3rds;)

Yes, those were my thoughts exactly. Watch the runs on these two sites combined, have the event over and done with before sunrise. I'm especially amused that they claim to have prepped themselves for this by watching speed runs, but it really doesn't show in their technique...

They should beat those 4 within 20 hours, expecially since they're several people running.

Yeah, they don't seem like they practiced or prepared or anything, they make a bunch of really dumb errors and just generally miss a lot of stuff that could have been much better. I wonder what speedruns they watched.

4 in 48 hours isn't paticuarly impressive, I'm pretty sure I could beat all 4 back to back in less than 24 hours. It would be something like OoT - 4 hours MM - 4 hours TWW - 8 hours TP - 6 hours It certainly would be challenging on fatigue, but it would allow for a couple of hours break inbetween. From watching and reading the updates so far, the guys seem pretty clueless on what there doing, its like watching a someone on there second playthrough. No evidence of sequence breaks or glitches either.

I'm surprised so many people are impressed by this (looking at the comments). Even before I joined the speedrunning community I would have said 48 hours was a reasonable goal for a Zelda binge.

I'm not impressed, either. It's only getting this much attention because (1) a lot of people aren't familiar with speedruns; (2) people tend to admire the endurance aspect of a gaming marathon; and (3) word about the event has been spammed to hell and back on just about every gaming forum on the web.

Indeed. A TASed attempt would take about 14 hours: 4 hours combined for OoT (with Bottle Adventure) + MM, 6 hours for TWW, and 4 hours for TP.

29 hours later, they've started on Wind Waker. This is painful. :/

why even bother following their progress if it's so terrible?

It's not as though I've been watching constantly. This is the first I've checked since I posted the topic. However, you do have a point, and it was well-made.

Yes this is pretty sad^^ Allthough I don't think I would be faster... But they're more people, play without breaks and claimed to have watched the Speedruns... I tuned tonight in and was "Surprised" that they still play MM... They will never make it... MAYBE they can finish Wind Waker today... But TP never xD

If nothing else, I'm glad that they're using the attention they've received to raise money for Child's Play.

They have got A LOT of money. Which surely is a good thing. It's actually quite amusing to watch them playing. Even if they don't show much speedrun skill. I told them to skip Temple of Time in Twilight Princess. But they said they wanted to make it legal...

I don't see how its illegal to skip something in the game to make it faster since they are trying to run a speedrun...

ah they're so bad... They get constantly pwnd by the Boss... For me it seems that they don't have a single clue what to do... (they also lost many times by this Reaper thing Enemy...) For the next time i would guess to read FAQ's BEFORE to start play and run clueless around^^" Okay... OoT in 9 hours was okay... But MM used up the most time... btw. The moon comes down xD Middle in the Bossfight... GameOver... too bad^^

But...they were horrible. Why would such bad players take on (let alone come up with) an attempt at something like that?

Sometimes you don't realize how bad you are at a game until you try and speedrun it.

It took like 15 hours for them to final MM....or so it seemed like. Pretty sad that all these people are supporting them and thinking they are amazing.

2 hours were left, and they had just gotten to hyrule castle to take the master sword in WW. They suck.
