It's too late though. I can force the game to boot in widescreen mode, but then the player's aiming width is increased. Desync the first time manual targetting is invoked. The original plan will have to suffice.

Really? You can aim more widely? Would that make for a better run?

Would that affect the lag somehow?

As technology advances, 1920x1080 is becoming a technology of the stone age. 4k is all the rage now. Thus, if we want to keep with the times, we should publish everything at 3840x2160. We wouldn't want to be deemed old and obsolete, now would we?

What, we still haven't published any TASes in VR yet? Come on. There's like... 5 virtual boy games. You know you want it.

But there is not much point is doing that unless you really, really want to keep that terrible pixelated look. HD is good enough for youtube, and the material is upscaled anyway, so it's just a matter of who does it.

You get less compression artifacts on higher youtube resolutions. There is no point to not have them. About that pixelated look - you need some upscale with Nearest neighbor anyway so there is not that much color blending. The lowest number you can get x2 resolution. Back then i was trying to compare video upscaled like this: x2 Nearest neighbor -> 2160p Bilinear interpolation VS x16 Nearest neighbor. The lowest resolution on youtube that gives you 60 fps - 720p. So x16 Nearest neighbor video at 720p on 1080p monitor looks EXACTLY the same as that bilinear interpolation video at any resolution above 720p. So in my opinion it's ideal to have really high resolution pixelated video on youtube. Who watch that video can actually choose what he want - more blurry 720p video or more pixelated video by choosing higher resolution.

What's with all these loser ideas? Today's video cards support 32,768 by 32,768 resolution. Or if you want to limit to hardware decoding - so it can actually be playable, 8,192 by 8,192. I demand nothing less. While we're at it, what's with this bogus 60 FPS? I demand 288 FPS for all our videos. I cannot wait till we do this, it means I can finally invest in a cable which can do 618.5 Gb/s for video. Maybe I can ask the guys who made this if they're up for it.

There's a real gem lower on that page:
Special Offers and Product Promotions Your cost could be $10,450.00 instead of $10,500.00! Get the Amazon.com Rewards Visa card and you'll automatically get $50.00 off instantly as a gift card. Apply now.
Barely avoided spilling tea all over my new keyboard. Indeed, that less-than-0.5% bonus received as a gift card must be super enticing for someone about to spend about 100x money on a cable than it is worth. Stay classy, Amazon.

Well, if you really want to go all out on the best playback system ever, you also need amazing audio, not just video. I recommend we all get these.

Well, that one sure got some mixed feedback. Some of these reviews are savage.
Top Customer Reviews 5.0 out of 5 stars Whoa Baby By Patrick J. Hawkins on December 18, 2015 I bought these to put in our newborn's nursery. We've been playing classical music because it is suppose to stimulate brain functionality. It seems to work stupendously. The child is only 8 weeks old and has told me that I'm a freaking moron for buying them. 5.0 out of 5 stars The Best Decision I Ever Made! By Perry Cardia on March 9, 2014 I debated for weeks between buying these bad boys, or getting my wife of 17 years her much needed heart transplant. Although I miss her very much, me and my ears have never regretted my decision. ...and on these diamond glass, "paragon of clarity" speakers, my wife's old record collection I inherited sounds...well...TO DIE FOR! Awww sweetie.... If only you and Jesus could hear this home theater setup now... 2.0 out of 5 stars Misleading product name... By Obi Wan TOP 100 REVIEWER on February 16, 2016 I was quite despondent to see them shipped in simple wooden and cardboard boxes as if these were being sent to peasants. They should have been packed in hand stained mahogany shipping containers and wrapped tightly in baby panda fur for softness. After my servants removed the speakers from their shipping boxes I was quite pleased with the quality of the audio for about 5 minutes. That is where the product quality took a downward turn. The 'waterfall' feature was not installed. It obviously had to be added upon set up. So I had one of the servants fetch some of our good water. (We special order it. It's collected as ice from the South Pole and upon melting is blessed by the Pope into Holy Water. Only the best for my home!) But upon filling the speakers with water their sound quality reduced dramatically and eventually both units stopped working entirely. To add insult to this injury, the waterfall feature never even functioned properly! The manufacturer didn't understand why we filled the speakers with water and said something about 'waterfall' being the name of the company and not a description of the product. I'm not sure what he was saying. Honestly I wasn't paying too much attention as my WireWorld - Platinum Starlight 7 HDMI Cable - 15 Meter arrived the same day and I was more interested in this other new toy. We put the speakers in the bathroom as fish tanks or something...I'm not sure. I don't go to that wing of the house very often.

Some of the Q & A are great to:
Question: How are these compared to Koss speakers? Answer: Don't know can't afford Koss.
Be sure to see reviews on the other as well
5.0 out of 5 stars Well i'm in trouble By Jared G. on October 15, 2016 This is an essential item to any home theater. Paired with my $35,000 LG 105" tv, my $40,000 Niagara Waterfall speakers, this makes the ultimate "I'm in SOOO much debt right now" setup. Although I've had 8 notice signs on my house, 1,000,000 emails from credit card companys, 100 insufficient fund letters from a few banks, I can watch tv in pure luxury. I'm upset though because I'm at an internet cafe because I have no power, no internet, or cable. I plan to sue them all shortly for their awful service. 5.0 out of 5 stars Free shipping was prompt and great. Would buy again By Maxim T on August 22, 2016 I couldn't find a HDMI cable deserving of connecting my gaming rig that is running three way Nvidia Titan X Pascal graphic cards to a 34" ultra wide gaming monitor. This HDMI cable now got everything running maxed out at a flawless 144 FPS. Thank you! P.S. Free shipping was prompt and great. Would buy again. 1.0 out of 5 stars Useless hdmi By Lee long on July 5, 2016 I sold my car, my 65 inches flate screen tv, and my ps4 to buy this gorgeous hdmi cable. It arrived the next day. I was so excited that I ran so fast into my room to plug it in to my ps4 and to my tv so that I can play my game. Then, I realized that I had sold my Tv and my ps4. So..now this hdmi cable had become useless. I got so mad that is why I gave it one star 4.0 out of 5 stars Platinum Starlight 7, would you marry me? By TheVitruvius on April 15, 2016 Verified Purchase Getting this piece of heaven was the only reason for me to sell my two daughters to the Italian mafia. The gold finish makes me remember how rich I am, and the carbon fiber parts make it weight way less than any other plastic HDMI cable. Also, it makes it look like a Formula 1 equipment. You can watch 5K videos from the Moon and there is not problem with the audio when you are playing Minecraft. This, my friends, is the best you can invest the money in if you win the Powerball. 5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome Cable! By Amazon Customer on April 4, 2016 My wife left me and my kids despise me. Regardless, I Iike to spend my retirement money on overpriced bulls*** to fill a void that has slowly been growing inside me ever since my father walked out. I hate myself. Some days is a struggle just to get out of bed. I've tried hanging myself multiple times, but the standard HDMI cables at walmart are simply not sturdy enough. Wow, it really makes you think, we spend our whole lives trying to impress people, but in the end, we sit there in our empty mansions surrounded by $10,500 cables and pictures of family that can't stand us. I just drank bleach. I can see the light. Oh, great service from Amazon by the way, free 3 day shipping is always a huge plus. 10/10
Edit: If you're wondering how someone could possibly afford all this expensive equipment, it's actually really easy. You only need a "wealth amulet".

I happen to know both how to afford such equipment and what has to go through one's mind to actually purchase it. Unfortunately, it also answers the question of how these companies manage to stay in business.

Yes, I answered this already. You only need a $250,000 wealth amulet.

That's not accepted yet, the judge is still judging it. Should probably be set as delayed (ad infinitum).

That's exactly what I meant. Someone should start encoding it, so that by the time it gets judged, it would be published quicker.

I think we should use the consoles native resolution on youtube, like 320x240 for example, because it's better for the environment and google. We're wasting a lot of space on google's servers by uploading unnecessarily high resolution videos, so it creates more pollution and death.

Anything below 720p becomes horrible on youtube. Besides, google re-encodes everything and throws away the originals anyway.

My original post was made in jest. It was posted years before we actually started encoding in full-HD. I was just joking. Who would have guessed back then that it would actually become a reality? That followup of mine was just continuing the joke. Not posted in seriousness. But who knows, perhaps it, too, will become reality.

I think you are correct. After all, 8K displays do exist. We should look ahead and be on the forefront of technology.

Seriously though... Increment the numbers is not the same thing as technological progress. 10bit444 and opus were the latter. Switching from x^y pixels to x^z pixels is the former. For 3D content, 4K is justified if you render everything at that resolution, just look at the recent Banjo Kazooie HD encode. Something higher? Find the person who will be stably doing that and be my guest. But for 2D content, there's really no point, since it's the same huge pixels. Youtube does butcher the bitrate beyond expectations, so various variants of super hires are all the same rotten apples.

Not only resolutions above 1080p on youtube have noticeable less compression artifacts, but if you watch 4k video on 1080 monitor it looks noticeable sharper and cleaner than same video at 1080p. It's better to have those resolutions even for 2D games, in my opinion ofc, because there noticeable difference edit: http://i.imgur.com/Uz7DPyC.png here it is. Both screenshots made at 1080 monitor with my lame encode. First made at 4k youtube replay and second second at 1080p replay. Both zoomed x8 with nearest neighbor. You can clearly see the difference. I can't see why not to have 4k encode if there is noticeable difference even at 1080 monitor. If you have 4k encode watcher can choose what he/she wants. Maybe someone wants more sharpness and clearness of the picture. Why not to have this?
