In case someone wonders what happened to this aim, Finalfighter said he changed the route a bit. But he copypasted the 4th stage back and as far as I know, the last (5th) stage is in completion or already completed. What's left after that is to copypaste the wilystages back to the full movie. I guess it's case closed, at least for some while... now one could say that that's it, but you never know what kind of new glitches are to be found. But I'm more than really satisfied with the latest product of Morimoto and FinalFighter.

Ya I really liked it too. I think I understand how the horizontal stuck in wall movement works, but I don't get the vertical.

How do i warp through the wall? The same thing happens everytime, i just get stuck in the wall not warping through it. Is there something else you have to do like jump, shoot or something? Or is it that it doesnt work in Virtua NES?

Are you talking about a certain game? What console? Or is it something general, because you posted to the General forum? The reason i posted it in the general forum is because it doesnt really fit in another forum and since it has something to do with an emulator game its not off topic. Anyway i read the faq but i didnt notice the "bold text". Anyway you linked me to it, and yes i got it to work. Even though i disslike how you state your thoughts i want to thank you alot.

Just to clear the issue, the question was about the NES game Mega Man 2. Which the poster didn't happen to mention. Next time, please post at the NES games forum and do mention the game name (preferably in the post subject!). As my selection for my "Proposal and Challenge to Time Attackers," I have chosen to improve Morimoto and FinalFighter's Rockman 2. I chose this because it was, in my opinion, the second most difficult movie to improve (first being SMB1). It's mainly a challenge to myself to make myself a better time attacker. If anyone has anything they feel might be improvable, it would sure be helpful. =) Progress: Played for 4-5 hours for a 17 frame improvement, about halfway through the first stage (Bubbleman). I'm not trying a Rockman 2 run, but I tried the first finishing the first screen, and it's 3 frames faster than your version. I think the main reason is you jump too often. Sometimes jumping slows you a frame down (I think).

Could be because Rockman walks at a speed of 1.333 pixels per frame, I think Bisqwit once said that.

I'm going to assume that this means jumping resets the frame counter. Either that or lag.

Yes, that's my uneducated theory. Finalfighter's theory was that every jump causes 1 frame of delay. We didn't actually test it out.

I figured as much. I'm going to redo the level from start. Is there any chance you could put your version up somewhere so I can see it? I'm going to test out the jumping situation more thoroughly tomorrow. I won't have much chance to get anything done tonight.

Thanks! I see the difference. I was having trouble getting the hits to be recognized that close together, but I guess it can be done. [Edit]I tested jumping. Jumping on a different frame doesn't change how many are lost. 1 frame is lost for 1-7 frame jumps. 2 frames are lost for 8+ frame jumps. This did not vary at all. I tested every frame over 10 frames.[/edit]

4 hours and 1800 re-records later, I'm up another 9 frames after the second screen. I took 2 frames off from what Baxter had, plus another 4 on the second screen. I found out from his movie that hitting a low ceiling with more than just a 1 frame jump will cause you to fall faster. http://www.jx3.net/tdg/Zoi/r2zoi03.fcm - only to the third screen. It's time to get some sleep. [edit]I think that the frames lost might not be exact from what I wrote earlier. I'll do some more testing.[/edit]

When you're getting hit, wouldn't it be faster to move a little to the right so that the "ouch" animation is pushing you to the left? In the movie, when you get hit, you're stationary because of the ledge.
