i was curious as to what movie was published the day i first visited here but the "recent additions" only goes back to 19/4/2004 or 4/19/2004 for my fellow americans my first visit was roughly 3 weeks before then is there a way to view a chronological sorting of publications back to #1? by the way, it was a smart idea to put the site address in tas back then i downloaded something like 4-5 of them over direct connect (was all the rage back then) and one of them had the site address glad it did otherwise i would probably never have gotten to see more until a while later hope someone can help peaces of reeses

This is close to what you are looking for I think.

Facepalm. Unfortunately, there doesn't seem to be a way to view them past that point, so your only option seems to be manually going to URLs and going from there.

I guess I didn't read carefully enough, but still:

Reading that, I assumed he only was looking at the recent additions... oh well.

ah thanks guys for the effort i remember one of the ones i downloaded was either a mega man 2 or 3 tas will check that first edit: ok so i think the one i downloaded over direct connect was morimoto's mm2 but this http://tasvideos.org/39M.html was the one i downloaded after arriving here although there were probably ones published after that when i first visited here i feel reasonably confident that i watched it from here thanks again

I'm usually more curious about how many obsoleted versions are for a given movie and their respective times. It's also a chronological listing, but probably not as useful.

You can go to a movie and check the History tab. It shows all the obsoleted versions. As an example from a Super Metroid run:
Added [1073] SNES "any%, real" Super Metroid (JPN/USA) by hero of the day in 39:32.8 (2008-03-02) - obsoletes [793] SNES "any%, real" Super Metroid (JPN/USA) by hero of the day in 40:57.85 (2007-02-09) - - obsoletes [311] SNES "any%" Super Metroid (JPN/USA) by Terimakasih in 46:37.08 (2005-03-27) - - - obsoletes [265] SNES "any%" Super Metroid (JPN/USA) by Terimakasih in 47:07.23 (2004-12-18) - - - - obsoletes [249] SNES "any%" Super Metroid (JPN/USA) by Terimakasih in 48:09.9 (2004-11-29) - - - - - obsoletes [245] SNES "any%" Super Metroid (JPN/USA) by Terimakasih in 47:50.93 (2004-11-27) - - - - - - obsoletes [165] SNES "any%" Super Metroid (JPN/USA) by Frenom in 51:52.3 (2004-08-15) - - - - - - - obsoletes [146] SNES "any%" Super Metroid (JPN/USA) by Frenom in 53:09.78 (2004-07-28) - - - - - - - - obsoletes [136] SNES "any%" Super Metroid (JPN/USA) by Frenom in 53:40.07 (2004-07-20)

I'm not a "fellow american", but http://tasvideos.org/NewMovies.html does indeed go back all the way to the beginning*. However, it only lists each movie once, and it groups them by the obsoletion chains. You can find older movies on that page by searching for specific dates, or for example "2004-04" which gets you all movies published in April 2004… *) Though the most early movies are not listed. For example, there are several revisions of Solstice by Exim that are not archived on this site… I'm not sure if I possess them at all.

right, so in my second post i mentioned that the closest one to what i was looking for was one of those earlier movies you speak of in your asterisk and i mention which it was; so yeah, the recent additions is going to be generally diesel but it falls slightly short also my reference to fellow americans was to be read as part of everything after the word "or"; here in the u.s. we have a date system of mm/dd/yyyy instead of dd/mm/yyyy and i did not want to confuse some people so i wanted to be clear on the dates we also have a 12-hour clock, fahrenheit temperature, miles and gallons, and "soccer", but i do not need to get into all of our strange ways
