By comicalflop's request, I've dropped NSMB 100% and started Super Peachy World! Er, Super Princess Peach. Yeah. Done up to 1-1: http://www.mediafire.com/?m2twlwqemim I'll upload all of the worlds once I start to finish them seperatly on YouTube, and the .dsm files for individual levels.[/url]

Wow, I got an immediate desync. Didn't even get past the title screen. ^^;; Are you using the new DeSmuME emulator that just got compiled, or the one that has major desync issues that everybody has been told to not use?

Which one is which, cause someone told me to use the one you posted in the emulator development forum :('. Or, it could be if your using the (J) rom or not. IDK. But yeah, bad sign.

I'm using the US version, since that's what should be used. And yeah, that's an old one. Get the new one in the DS Emu forum (assuming your computer supports SSE2, which is why it crashes for most people).

The (J) version is used because based on some testing, Peach walks a microscopic-bit faster, and there's alot less random lag in levels. Anyway, about the emulator, yeah, I'll fix that. EDIT: the .dsm works fine with the new emulator and the (J) rom.ssss

One big improvement right from the get go - press start twice at the title screen to skip the float in animation. Also, I would suggest trying to balance the sad feeling in the run and use it more, because she runs really fast while sad. You do start with a full heath bar and there's several feeling refills in the level.

Oh yeah, much better. I don't know how much you'll be able to use the cry emotion in later levels, but for there, it's a definite must.

Well, it really doesn't have any limits besides the emotion gauge. You can always extend your emotion gauge by collecting coins and buying the appropriate item

Yeah, in levels where there isn't many blocks that drop the energy refills there might be a problem, but otherwise I should be able to manipulate them to drop the crystal things.

Hey, I've been following this site a long time, but never really felt like making an account until now, mostly because I don't really have enough time to spend making a TAS lol. Anyway, I am really interested in seeing a TAS of this game as I remember it being a very fun and interesting game when I played it. But as I said, I probably wouldn't have the time or patience to actually do a TAS of this game, but hopefully I might be able to be of some help by watching WIPs and giving helpful advice. I made a really rough test run of the first level with pretty obvious mistakes, but I think it should give you some helpful ideas to make your run faster. http://www.mediafire.com/?sharekey=b8fb407ee7ff91a02fb2ca15d7ea42d9e04e75f6e8ebb871 Also, 3 things I thought I should mention: 1. I noticed in your WIP that at the end of the first section of 1-1, you jump about halfway up the ladder and climb up the rest of the way. Just thought I should note that you can jump up from the ladder while you're climbing, like in some other mario games, which might be faster in some areas in the game. 2. Just kind of a warning, make sure that when you use the cry vibe or whatever, that you use it only on distances long enough to make up for the start up time, like for instance, at the end of 1-1 after the toad, I think it's faster to just run to the end normally rather than wait for the cry vibe to start up just for that short distance. Hopefully this makes sense lol, sorry if I explained it weird. 3. Haven't really testing it frame by frame, but it looks like in levels with slopes if you slide on them, you go faster than you would if you used the cry vibe. I've also found that you can keep this speed by jumping when you land or going into a slide for a short time when you land and then jumping again. This is kind of hard to explain lol, I might do another test run to try and show this if it's hard to understand, I just remember thinking it might be pretty important in a TAS. I would do some testing if I knew anything about RAM addresses or whatever, pretty clueless there, but maybe you'll have better luck. Anyway, I hope some of this will help you and I'll try to keep up on your run and help you in any way I can. Good luck running this awesome game :)

Very interesting tricks. I especially liked the use of the giddy emotion combined with a high jump at the 2nd toad. Nice work. :)

No, they're using the (J) ROM, because I guess Peach is faster in there then the US one (which I don't think it's the case, but whatever).

Good work. I'll be looking forward to seeing how you manage to balance your emotion meter for the rest of the game. :)

Okay, I recently had awipe-out of my hardrive, and I'm trying to get everything back, so 1-2 is lost and I have to dwonload everything again, so this is on haitus for now. Shouldn't be for too long. EDIT: Phht. SPP desynches alot for me now, and I'm trying to get this worked out, seeing as I don't want to switch projects AGAIN. I'll keep working on this, but it might be a while. (Why do TOSE games hate me :( )

There is a glitch I discovered in Super Princess Peach. If you jump on top of a Big Chain Chomp and stay on there long enough (a second or two) and then jump, you will get a huge burst of speed.

Interesting. Do you have any videos of it in action?

No, I do not. Plus I forgot to mention that the trick might ony save a few seconds and will only be useful on one level (on an any% speedrun according to what I figured out, two levels on a 100% speedrun). I also know many other glitches, but those would be useless for a TAS (unless it is like a glitch-a-thon) But once I get the time I will upload the glitches on my Youtube account. BTW, I am working on a TAS of this game too. You can see some of the previous attempts of me TAS'ing the game on my channel. You could learn potential tricks and you could tell me what I need to improve. And one more thing, If anyone wants to speedrun this game 100%, here is a definition. Buying every item, including infinite vibe, completing all levels (most twice!), collecting all toads, minigames, and puzzle pieces. And finishing all 10 levels of the 3 minigames. Completing all 8 puzzles. Killing one of every type of enemy.

BTW I forgot to mention... don't forget to get 777 coins on the roulette at the end of some of the levels so you can buy Floatbrella (to retain speed when jumping from a Slidebrella(or whatever it's called) and increase the size of your vibe. The TAS isn't going well. Could someone tell me what RAM adresses to look for when hitting the goal and trying to get 777 coins (The thing that looks like a heart shapes peach)?
