Found this chinese game a while ago. Don't know the real name (the site I got it from said it was "Qin War reincarnation of the Millennium"). It's a commercial game for java-enabled cell phones, but it's a shameless ripoff of the Castleroid games, from SotN to OoE. Anyway, it's awesome and does anyone know more about it? klmz? zggzdydp? EDIT: Ah, I forgot to say that the intro theme is SotN's Lost Painting... EDIT2: links here: Moderator edit: Sorry, pirate, that's not allowed. Links removed. Never heard a thing about it until just now, but I want to play it.
Kirby said so, so it must be true. ( >'.')>

I also found this one: I'll PM you the link for the other game because I don't know if it's cool to post a link to download a commercial game that violates copyrights... There's a emulator here It would also be nice if you didn't ask a moderator to delete my post!

OK, here you have a cool emulator: http://stashbox.org/519571/MicroEmulatorv2.0.3.64.rar It's kind of boring to get this thing working, but you have it all set up , all you have to do is run the .cmd file (as long as you are on Windows). I get no sound here, tell me your experiences. I included JADMaker, becaause you'll need the JAD files for the emulator. The copyright-violating roms: Yep, not allowed either. For the SotN-like game, can you tell me what the heck happens when we reach the 3rd stage?

Please don't violate the forum rules here. I am not bad at googling at all :P (Well, despite cloning other copyright games, these two game themselves are labeled as "free for downloading", and I haven't found "directly ripped things" in them. However the forum rules simply forbide the ROM link.) Actually I've once written some Castlevania homebrew walkthrough. But I don't think I can handle bad Castlevania-clone games any more. EDIT: I only tried the "SotN" one with another emulator, KEmulator Lite v0.9.8, which emulates sound well. However, the BGM mutes if I go into the menu screen util you re-enter a level. I didn't have any problem until the level with a wolf (?) boss when the game suddenly froze. It came back working after loading the saved game. What's your problem in the 3rd level?

My problem is the chinese message that pops up when I reach the 3rd stage. No matter what I do I always come back to the map. Can you tell me what it is asking me? also, I like the other one much better, but it won't run in microemulator (and some cellphones) unless you add the nokia ui files. They are in the /lib subdirectory, inside microemu-nokiaui.jar. Put the com folder inside the game jar archive and it will work.

Oops. It asks you to send a message at the expense of 1 RMB for unlocking the following levels. It seems that KEmulator just emulated it so "smoothly" that I wasn't aware. O_o

Well, I didn't try it. The SotN one is just bad and I've found a few glitches.

Yeah, I guess I was playing a non-hacked version, but now I got past it. But you could at least tell me the name of game and what's the story about... And bugs? What bugs? It looked really stable to me also,

And I can't handle poorly designed ORIGINAL Castlevania games anymore. This SotN clone is really fun to play, like when I tried Aria of Sorrow for the first time. The character design is WAY BETTER then Dawn of Sorrow/Portrait of Ruin plus the gameplay is very above average considering it's a mobile java game. But you need to check the other one. It's an action game, pretty cool. With SUPER-IMPRESSIVE graphics comparing to the shitty DS games... These games, as non-original and badly programmed as they seem are the best Castlevania games since Aria of Sorrow. PERIOD. Ah, that Kemulator is the best thing ever. So great that someone bought the project and now the main site is unavailable... EDIT: Can you give me original links to download the free games? Here's the SE K800 version, fully compatible with kemulator: http://stashbox.org/521696/AS_K800.jar You won't get stuck at Manticore's poor brother... heh

I won't violate the rules here, so just try googling "秦殇 千年轮回" (I don't know how to translate it...), the name of the game (in simplified Chinese, UTF-8?). Don't bother with those stupid forums though. The story is totally non-sense. I don't feel like viewing it at all. And that's exactly how I ignored the charging message back then. EDIT: Glitches: * Random freeze (can be the emulator's fault). * BGM gone after menu operation. * In a in-game scene, "Skip" (on the upper-right corner) doesn't skip the dialogues (it skips action part instead). * Can reveal areas where you haven't arrive on the "castle map" (unsure how). * Can get items without touching them (try that one over a doorway too high to jump up). * Graphical error while turning around and swinging some sword as soon as you level up. * And blah etc. EDIT 2: Wow, the other one, "斩妖伏魔录" (no idea again...) is really awesome! Too bad that they just failed to put more efforts into it to make it better without violating Castlevania's copyrights. (Sigh)

All those glitches you mentioned are typical of J2ME games. I'm very used to them, they are likely errors in the java virtual machine. Nothing specially bad about it. And that 2nd game has an even better version, with much improved character graphics and a backdash but I couldn't get a version that works in KEmulator

斩妖伏魔录 (1?) doesn't have a proper ending... It's confusing. Its developer has made another similar game named 猎魔人 (Demon Hunter), while 斩妖伏魔录 seems to be its sequel, according to the naming of their save files and a few sites. 斩妖伏魔录 Tips: Weapon enhancements (on Lv3/6/9): * +5% thing: recover your HP by 5% of dealt damage * +100% thing 1 (sword icon): weapon damage (not adding the character's basical damage) +100% * +100% thing 2 (?): special attack damage +100% (not working for all weapons...) * +250% thing: weapon damage +250% when low on HP * +300% thing: critical damage +300% * -30% thing: received damage -30% Effects of enhancements in the same categories are accumulated, while effects of those in different categories are multiplied (if activated). Lances have insanely high critical rate.

I have still to finish it. But which one are you talking about? 斩妖伏魔录 1 or 2? Oh, and I put all the links in the first post, to make life easier.
