Nope i did not abandonned... These are the reasons why it's taking so much time :
- In May I had to give up my desktop, having only my laptop... and I hate my laptop keyboard... And it took me forever to get a USB normal keyboard...
- In June I had my exams... so I couldn't work on it...
- In July I worked in Paris, which is not the city in which I live... I also saw friends that were back from abroad that I couldn't see before (I'm on holyday)
- In august I'm finally back... However due to some things Mike noticed in my previous work, I decided to start from scratch this run again...
Moreover, one final thing is that my girlfriend is moving in another city, I had to help her and I want to spend some time with her for I won't be able to see her after September...
So it's progressing do not worry... slowly, it's true, but it's progressing... I'll be able to work seriously on it and also on some another games that I would like to try in September... I also wanted to spend some time with friends that will leave for abroad (especially in Finland and Canada)...
So I admit that this run was paused for quite a time but i wanted to give a few time to my private life as I cannot during the year...
THIS PROJECT IS NOT ABANDONNED and I'M STILL HERE !
sorry for the long delay (and i told zurreco that i would sweep Panther flauclaws)
EDIT : About RMZ1, I thought Gigafrost was carrying a run for it... I shall see, I still have some work to do to release a good TAS for RMZ2!

Those personal life things sounds a lot more important :)
This can be done later, the stuff you just said can't.
Good to know you're still alive though, and good luck with your personal life! :P
Thx a lot !!
However, I guess that not being able to see my girlfriend for one year (it's not exactly true, though, i shall see her during her holydays...) will quickly end my private life, as for my friends leaving for foreign countries, next year will be pretty sad, so I guess I will drown my woe in TAS ;)
Note that I also acquired a DS lite and a PS2, and I spent a lot of time on Shadow Of The Colossus (I found impressive speedrun videos on google video of this game by the way...)
Zozog,
Some news about the run... As I already explicited, I've started from scratch again and I redid the first level...
It is one annoying level as you have to manipulate the golems and the boss into not doing some actions...
For example, The first glem MUST use his left lasers first because, if not, you cannot slash it directly...
The first level has been improved, my previous time was 0'46'', the new one is 0'44''...
Yep, that's true, it's a 2sec (of the in-game clock, so it's not really two seconds) improvement...
What I improved is :
- jumping over the second tower ennemy instead of killing it.
- avoiding landing with a gun as it makes me lose 1 frame dashing
- dash slash the boss four times... it makes it lose 5 bars instead of 4 (normal slash)... So this way it only requires 7 hits to destroy it instead of 8, making me spare the last invincibility period that would require a 8th hit...
Continuing onwards into the stage of Polar Kamrous
For a place to upload wips, you could use microstorage, it supports several formats and is easy usable. Personally I'd love to see a wip of this game, its probably the best one out of the 4.
Here you can find a WIP of the first four levels... I'm progressing faster now...
I've also improved Phoenix magnion from 1'20'' to 1'17'' due to a nice improvement of the boss fight... (i'm quite proud of it)
For those who wondered : I use the (U) version of MMZ2
Edit : And i raped Panther Flauclaws according to Zurreco's desire :)

Hey Fred!
Watched your WIP, it looked great! You sure have grown since the last runs. I'm really looking forward to further progress of this run \o/
I have some comments though.
- You got hit by one of the mid-boss golems in the first stage. Was it neccessary? Could you otherwise not reach the golem (without getting hit again)?
- You get hit by the intro stage boss, the scorpion. Why did you do this? In my own video i start dash-slashing towards the boss, but i still get hit cuz i can't stop. However, i think my way looks better than yours because with mine, you can see the hit is inevitable. With yours, it looks a bit silly/sloppy since you get hit before you can start an attack.
- I loved how you, in hyleg's stage clung to the chainrod-platform with your chainrod from below! Like, you dashed from the side/wall and then suddely shot up, linking to the platform, saving you from death :D
- Before the 1st miniboss in Hyleg's stage you switched to shield boomerand and then walked to the door, because you can't dash while using the SB and you needed to charge it. However, you should've made a dashed jump towards the door and switched to the SB 1 frame after the jump. This way you wouldn't have needed to walk, yet still charge your SB for the mini boss.
- I take it you charged yout buster before the fight with Hyleg for boss manipulation. However, you never used it, probably cuz you didn't want to make an unnessecary attack. However, you could've released your buster charged during any saber attack without attacking. Just a reminder for future boss battles.
- I looooooooooooved your Pheonix Magnion fight! It was so cool to see you escape the SB while still damaging Pheonix at early times! However, i don't see why you let yourself get hit in the end. Do you have any reason for this? It makes the run more sloppy, especially after such a cool fight.
Overall, this already is a great looking run!
Keep up the great work!
I'm really glad you liked it :D
Those are the reasons of my actions :
- I got hit because i the golem is not within the reach of the ZSaber when he uses his right arm lasers... This was a necessary hit...
- Well, I have to see you video again, but i noticed that the scorpion's head, tails and pincer deal 4 damages, while its body only deals 2... I need to dash slash him at least four times to reduce the number of slashes i need to kill him by one. I wouldn't have enough energy to do so if i'm hit by the head each time... so i need to get hit by the body before slashing him...
- The SB is quite a strange weapon... if it does not reach the first stage of charge then it DOES NOT charge during the "door pass" animation. I have to use the saber to kill an enemy just before the door and I can only switch to the SB after i killed that enemy... I admit I did not try to switch right after i killed it and then jump dash to the door but it's not sure that there is enough time to reach the first stage of charge before the door...
Hmmm... I'm not sure that explanation was clear... well if it's not just tell me i'll show you...
- You're right... i charged the buster to prevent Hyleg from jumping at the beginning of the fight... I could have released the charge during the battle... i'll think about it next time...
- I took a hit at the end of the fight just for fun... Is it so lame ??? Ok i'll remove that...
I'm continuing the run tonight :)
Thx for cheering

Aaaaah! I see! So there is a reason, and a good one. :)
This is sorta vague, but i think i know what you mean. I also can't remember how far that enemy was away frm the door, so myah, whatever, i'll recheck it next time i watch the video.
imo, (in my opinion) (and i think a lot of people share the same opinion) i think unnessecary hits unpolish the game. After such a cool fight, getting hit just doesn't look right.
Cheers!

Very excellent run. I especially liked how quickly the bosses were dispatched.
Quick question: is there a specific reasoning for your level sequence? Since you only seem to have needed to thunder chip to kill off Phoenix Magnion, why couldn't you just do levels from left to right?
the reason is simple... By doing Polar Kamrous' stage first I can kill many enemies and upgrade my saber to level 2...
Then I do Panther Flauclaws because there are many enemies there too that allows me to upgrade my saber to level 3 quite early in the game...
If i began by Hyleg I'm not even sure I'd have been able to upgrade to level 2 before fighting Hyleg himself (because there are really few enemies to kill with the saber in that level) and it would have taken much more time to dispose of the bosses.
That's the reason...
Just watched your WIP (after beating the game not more than a hour ago), snd I should say this run is getting really interesting! A quick question: are you going to take any of the ex-skills and/or other forms (I had only three of those, with Rise being the best)? Perhaps some of them could speed up some fights a bit (I mean those that don't have bad effects on speed, e.g. that slash-dash upgrading skill, Sengatotsu).
Well... For the forms, i've settled that only the Rise Form is useful in a pure speed run... It packs two more damages and speeds up boss fights...
The EXSkills are simply useless in MMZ2... The reason is simple, they cannot be combined with any other attacks (contrary to MMZ3... watch my run if you do not see my point...)
There are only a few combos doable in this game, and they are not really useful as well...
By the way what is your Sengatotsu thing ??
