2) Rog got the 1-2 block clip at full speed I believe, so it should be possible and would save like, half a second, but its worthwhile.
I don't remember if it was full speed, but if not, it was definitely close. It certainly saves time.

Yeah, I found that it's not related with speed. Maybe that 2 blocks have a bug or other reason. That glitch works only when Mario is on a key location. So after I found this, it helps me save 8 frames. And 1 more frame saved in 1-2 due to another reason. Mario run on the swinging blocks can get more speed. In 1-1, as raikerz said. I get 2nd starcoin firstly. And get 3rd starcoin finally. It saves a lot of time certainly. About 100 frames.

I'm tasing this game now. And improving my warped run. But I have a problem. How to manipulate the enemy on map? Such as the goomba on map 1. I've beaten over 1 second. But due to goomba's longer movement, I lose about 0.5 second. I try to lose some frames to end stage later. Which used in smb3. But this doesn't succeed to manipulate enemy's movement in this game...

Well, a wild shot (this is the way of manipulating stuff in NSMB DS, I don't know if it works in NSMB Wii): Try changing the number of double/triple jumps you do. For some unfathomable reason, double/triple jumps throw random numbers in NSMB DS.

Okay, I'm TASing this game, actually improved many frames between Soig Run, here level 2, the WR beats me at start of level, but I beat it in the cave, then he beats me again in the end. Here encode of 1-2 so its TWR Link to video Edit: There is something I just tested that is false in soig Run, there isn't boost with corners, the pixel value stays the same, or is it true?
Current: Rayman 3 maybe? idk xD Paused: N64 Rayman 2 (with Funnyhair) GBA SMA 4 : E Reader (With TehSeven) TASVideos is like a quicksand, you get in, but you cannot quit the sand

Hm...have you checked whether this game utilizes sub-pixels?

I don't understand that subpixel things :/ Soig says it saves 1 pixel But in my value example speed is 3 max And pixel goes 2593.XXXXXX then 2596.XXXXXX I think XXXX is the subpixel?

There's one way to check it. Use PrintScrn to take a snapshot of that frame, then write down the value. Now do the same for Soig's run. If they appear to be in the exact same position, yet the values are different, then the game has sub-pixels. You can read about it here: http://tasvideos.org/GameResources/CommonTricks.html#SubpixelCarryover Edit: oops

Was this done without ram watch? What you do about 5 seconds in looks very wrong to me. You run faster moving down slopes, and you can maintain some of that speed by jumping. The obvious thing to do then is to run down as much as possible, and jump, holding A as long as possible, at the last possible frame. You did the opposite, by jumping nowhere near the end, and then not holding A. You probably need to jump over the goomba to do that. The video i posted a couple pages back should demonstrate what i mean.

I used RAM Watch, IIRC doing what you say gives me about seped value = 3.5 The speed value is 3 when running on a ground normal right? and 4 with a star

Maybe it's a stupid question, but wouldn't it be faster not taking the mushrooms (I mean, the flag and the flying mushroom)?

Don't worry. That isn't stupid, It's just because it's for the any% TAS, so it is for taking warp later =)

You may want to compare to my old wip. Just looking at the encodes, it appears you're at least 5 frames behind as of the flagpole. As i've told you a number of times, your are handling the slides completely wrong. Even with the huge time i wasted not jumping after getting the propeller hat, you still only beat mine by a couple of frames.

As i told you before, all my slides I think ( or most of) are near optimal...

I emphasized the words you should consider if you aim to a) submit your run here or b) make it perfect as possible. If you are already at 1-1 and you know your run is improvable, then that's a bad sign. Even an old taser like me use a method called trial and error. Try it.
