It seems there are 2 different paths the Subrosian can be manipulated to take in each screen depending on how many times you slash before going to the next screen. There is a way to do this in real time. Just memorize how many times to slash for her to take the quicker path. Vespa happened to lose over 450 frames at that part.
Yeah, I have been thinking of this as I remember she's walking different paths. Forgot to mention it though... EDIT: Just found a thing with the magnetglove that can be in handy: http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/2969/MagnetGlove.vbm You can jump in the air this way. The place I did it on could have done faster, but I just wanted to show you:). New EDIT: Bah, I now found an improvement to your run, Vespa... A bit late maybe. But when you are on your way to take the mystery seeds. After you have pitglitched over the holes carrying the rock you throw it and lose some frames. But if you instead throw it on the ladder you will go down it without losing any time.

Neat trick with the Magnet Glove. I think thats a glitch, since I couldn't do it in real time.

It also works in the underground so it might come in handy somewhere... Glitch researching is fun, hehe :D. I'm at dungeon 5 with my pegasus seed "route" (Actually I'm just writing down where to get them at the moment.). I guess you don't have any use of it yet. So I can't wait to post it:).

Alrighty, half the job with the pegasus seeds in Seasons are done. http://www.filecrunch.com/file/~56geoc There you can see where it is best to get refills at least. Will do the rest part later *yawn*. And as usual, ask if you don't understand something or have better places for refills.

<NesVideoAgent> New reply by dezbeast (GB: Zelda, Oracle of Ages / Seasons): http://tasvideos.org/forum/p/105032 <Tompa_> YAY!!!!!!! Haha. Ok. I have added you to my MSN list anyway, if you are using the program or just checking your email=P. I also see that you have come 11% in the run. That mean you are close to the shovel I presume... Are you going to post a WIP when you reached dungeon 2?

I'm just past Subrosia and about to use the rod for the first time. I'm not 100% sure, but is it not possible to manipulate it to be winter outside the village? Anyway, I shall post a WIP at the beginning of level 2. I was watching Ego Buff's run in this level, and I think the fun will start here. There's so many different tricks that could be exploited in this dungeon.

Here are the default seasons http://www.vgmaps.com/Atlas/GB-GBC/LegendOfZelda-OracleOfSeasons-Holodrum(Default).png It's only in the village where it is different seasons every time (I think...) Ok, I'm looking forward to it! EDIT: Bah, you need to fix the link first apparently... EDIT again: By the way.. what do you thought about my "pointless" pegasus seed guide? And when do you want me to have the route done for them? As you are starting to use the seeds pretty soon, it might be good to have it done. In case you don't want to do it yourself though... I just wanna help^^.

That's a very neat site. Those maps are crystal clear. As for the pegasus seed route, go ahead and plan out the rest but take your time. I'm going to need all the info I can get. If I do get to a part where I feel that I'll need to examine the route, I'll just work on my other run while I wait for you to finish. Edit: just checked your plan where to get the seeds and it seems optimal

Ok. I'm going to work with it right away. Must ask first... You can still do the pit glitch with a pegasus seed, right? If not, it makes some difference with the route. You will have it done in the end of next week, at least. Probably earlier:). EDIT: Oh, just found a nice thing I didn't know about before. If you push a pot you can get an item, if you lift it afterwards you can get one more item. This means you can get two pegasus seeds from one pot. Don't know how hard it is to manipulate though... :). And I also did a miss with the pegasus route... you can manipulate seeds from the pots in the beginning of dungeon 3.

I'll keep that in mind. I'm not sure if it's possible to manipulate 2 pegasus seeds in a row but I'll give it a shot. And yes it's possible to pit glitch when using the seeds. Edit: So what do you estimate the final time of my run will be? Just factor in pit walking, save+reseting and a lot better manipulation and precision than Ego Buff's run. I need a more accurate % for my signature.

You shoul be able to get 1:50, no doubt. Perhaps around 1:45 I presume... You save a lot of time in dungeon 8 for example, with the pit glitch. Half the dungeon goes bye bye :D. I've soon finished the pegasus route for dungeon 3 now. Will finish that today, and probably get up to dungeon 4.

I'm at the tree with the mystery seeds. Should I get them? I noticed you got them. I'll let you make the call on this one since you have a much deeper knowledge of the game than I do. Edit: I shall be working on my other run as I wait for your reply.

You have to take the Mystery seeds. You need it to attract the Moldorm to get one of the crystals you need to enter Tarm Ruins. The Scent Seeds, however, are useless in the game. And I don't think you can save any time by taking them really... EDIT: The pegasus seed route took longer time than I thought, hehe. Am on dungeon 4 now... You can tell me when you want what I have done so far. As I presume that you won't finish it up to the seeds yet, I can actually wait a bit longer:).

Well, the scent seeds are used once or twice in Oracle of Ages... I remember using them in Dungeon 6 to lure some of those snake things into a pit, and it was necessary to use the seeds because the whole area was blocked off. Just putting that out there for future reference.

Yepp, one of the places where you have to use them on... The other place you need them on is to get your bracelet back on Crescent. Or els they are quite useless really... You might be able to save some time on the stalfos on the same spot as the ropes in dungeon 6 though. Hey Chef, are you going to work with a run now when you cancelled your Demo World?

So will I need all 3? I'll post a WIP right afterward.

No, as you only need to use one seed during the whole game... Just take one of them.

Am watching it now... HAHA, I liked the way you owned Rosa :D:D! Nice! You actually walked in here, hehe. Well done! Very nice so far. I only have one LITTLE comment ;D. When you dig with the shovel... Couldn't you save 1 frame if you slash with the rod? That's the only SMALL improvement I could come up with... I'm looking forward to dungeon 2. And you will get the pegasus route whenever you need it.

Hmm, I never even thought of trying it but fortunately, it's exactly the same because there is a 18 frame penalty for using the rod. It's only 17 frames for the sword so it save's 1 frame with the sword.

Haha, how lame:D. My frameeye didn't work this time then, hehe. EDIT: I'm up to dungeon 5 with the route at least. Remember that I'm not checking with frame perfection where the fastest places are to use seeds on. I'm using my "Frameeye" instead, which isn't always working that well, hehe. But I think my route is quite optimal. The first guide I did, where to get the seeds, is quite useless really... Because I'm not using half of the refillplaces that are mentioned in the text. Anyway, here's what I got so far: http://www.filecrunch.com/file/~rdjxlo

Yeah, your seed route seems very optimal so far. And it's very easy to understand. Thanks for all the research you've put on this game. It will save me a lot of testing and trial and error.

I think I have put more hours into my helping researching than your TASing, haha. I'm just glad that I could help out a bit. And I don't want you to stop the project because that no one cares or similar. Hmm, I don't remember if I did a decent bomb route... Do you think you will have any problems with that part? Or else I can look through it more clearly and do another walkthrough:).

It seems that bombs are a lot easier to come by than I had thought, all I need to know is exactly how many more number of bombs are needed for the rest of the game. I have a full 10 at the start of the level and I won't be using as many bombs as Vespa, unless of course if it's faster to.
