   * Abuses programming errors
About the run:
Angry Fire Chozo is a hack of Super Metroid which is created by Deep_Space_Observer, released on May 05, 2009. It's really a nice hack, I have done an any% run of this so I decided to do a run with all items collecting! I found a very nice trick with Boost Ball and Bomb, this trick allow Samus to get through 1 solid block, and because of that, I can skip Phantoom and the escape in a different way. You can see it clearly in the run.
Special Thanks:
   * All Super metroid team's members
   * Cpadolf
   * Kriole
   * Namespoofer
   * Saturn
: )

mmbossman: It doesn't look like this hack has much support from the audience, even if the play is up to par. Rejecting.
CoolHandMike: Judging Underway.
CoolHandMike: This is being rejudged due to rule changes in particular with a more lenient approach to rom hacks and where entertainment feedback is not taken into account. This tas is well optimized and while certain new tricks are known these are not taken into account since they were found after this tas was submitted. I find no reason not to accept this Super Metroid hack. 101% for this game matches up with Full Completion which is a Standard Class.
Accepting for goal "101%" in Standard Class.
Good job!

So many tricks have been found since then. I think there was another case of a SM hack that was re-evaluated and rejected again due to optimizations.

Encode for this submission. It removes all cutscenes as the hack has so many items grouped together, so this is better for smoothness. Link to video

Such wonky physics... And what is that level design, lmao. It was a pretty nice run though. Many tricks have been found since, true, but I wouldn't say this is bad quality or that it looks improvable to a non-expert.
