About me
Hi I'm Comicalflop, I'm 18 years old, I live in Massachusetts and I go to UMD college. I joined this site 2006-06-13, after spending months looking at these amazing videos. I first got into TASing when in 2004 my brother showed me Morimoto's SMB3 TAS (back when nobody knew it was a TAS) and I started thinking about speedrunning videogames. Through my initial feeble attempts I offhandedly discovered this site, and dove right into making a Donkey Kong Country 2 TAS. I was recently made an editor as of 2006-12-04.

Workbench
SSB High Score Time Attack. Rejected. But for anyone that wants to see: Streaming SSB High Score TAS
I doubt anything new from me is going to the workbench in a very long while, I could squeeze out Kirby 64 real quick but I just don't want to do it right now. The other two runs will take a long time to finish.
Next Projects, in particular order
- Jet Force Gemini AHHHHHHHHH absolutely beautiful game to TAS, I have 100% comitted to doing this. This is the run that I had been searching for, with the perfect blend of high speed sci-fi action, third/first person extreme shooting bloodbaths, bug gore, sniping, explosions, etc. And it's going to be a 2 controller run as well (the first N64 TAS to do so, I believe.) Of course, that means the next 1-2 years of my life has been completely booked, potentially more. But I have high hopes for the end result.
- Discovering good N64 games to TAS. I'm downloading ROMs and testing out which ones would make great candidates. One of the biggest concerns is N64 games that desynch; currently a method for discovering which ones desynch and which don't is being researched.
- DKC2 102% Improvement Due to Jet Force Gemini, work is stalled, don't know how long it'll stay that way.
- Kirby 64 100% I feel sad that I keep putting this off, since no one else is doing it, people have requested it despite its slowness and it's quite easy to make, plus we need more N64 TASes. However, in terms of priority it falls behind JFG and DKC2 102%. As of now, work is stalled, probably for a long time.

Runs that I'm dying to see
Some of these are question marks, in that progress is slowed or stalled. This does not stop my desire to see the finished product.
- Arne_the_great's Donkey Kong Country 2 any%
- I will gladly pick this up if he discontinues
- Sami's Banjo Kazooie 100%
- One of the top N64 games, with great glitches and action
- Vidar's Starfox 64 High Score
- this is just too intense. Current progress stalled, not a lot of updates in a while.
- Spezzafer's Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island 100%
- I pray that he'll finish this, the WIP lacks the english words to describe
- Nibelung's Donkey Kong Country 3 105%
- Nibelung is doing this game great justice, making a consistent speed that normally isn't expected of this slowest of the DKC series.
- Fabian's Super Mario World 96 Exit Improvement
- C'mon, the first one is one of the highest ranking movie here, his improvement is going to need a new rating system going beyond 10/10
- thegreginator + skamastaG's Super Mario World small only 86 Exit
- I had a taste of one of the castle levels, and overcoming the obstacles of being short makes me proud since I'm only 5'6"
- OgreSlayeR's Megaman X 100%
- slow progress, but looks very promising
- Angerfist + Baxter's Megaman 3, 4, 5, 6 Quad Run
- The dual X X2 was amazing, and this quad run just causes mind explosions. It might have to be hidden, or else the number of people rushing to hospital in shock or switching to the Baxter/Angerfist Cult will be overwhelming.
- Rising Tempests's Goldeneye
- when applying to work for the master bad guy, go for the white labcoat job so that when the TASing James Bond bursts in and out of the door in 2 seconds he won't give you a Tool Assisted shot to the head.
- L4yer's Perfect Dark
- would be awesome if only in the first level the programmer couldn't see through walls and ceilings. I'd love to see this, co-op if possible
- Wyster's 007 The World Is Not Enough
- This sequel to Goldeneye may be argued as not as good as the original... Wyster is proving it isn't.
- Mukki's Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask
- we shalt prevail the desynchs, and an amazing run shalt be born!
- Guanobowl's Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time Improved
- once the guards problem is fixed, get ready for even more extreme sequence breaking!
- Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past
- Erokky's any%
- too bad 100% was discontinued, and any% progress has been slowed somewhat.
- antd's Super Smash Bros Fox Fastest Completion
- My run may have been rejected, but antd's has a good chance of being accepted.
- Super Smash bros. Full run
- too long for me to do and busy at the moment, but this'd be a complete pure entertainment completion of SSB. Trying to get someone to attempt this.
- Some form of Mario Kart 64, whoever ends up doing it.
- Sin and Punishment, whoever ends up doing it.
- Blastcorps/Mischeif Makers
Runs that I've tried and failed/put on hold
I tended to frantically search for different TASes to work on, since I get TAS withdrawl if I'm not working on runs. I'd pick up and drop runs left and right, though thankfully as of now I have 2 strong runs that I'm going to see to completion.
- Kirby Dreamland 3: 100%
- It's faster than Kirby 64 100%, but I lost interest, the possibility of 2 player was daungting to me, but mostly I simply lost interest, despite having discovered turbo Coo flying for fastest movement.
- Rayman 2: The Great Escape any%
- Mega huge/frequent desynchs, a four hour long projected movie, but biggest of all the boss consistently disappears in the 7th level, so I can't beat him. Plus, the fact that Rayman's turning always caused the camera to move in bad ways made it impossible to always go in straight lines.
- Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island 100%
- good thing I gave up after barely 2 days of trying it.
- Starcraft 64
- Quite simply an RPS like this is going to be difficult, but the biggest problems were desynching and the fact that units did not know how to speedrun, and stopped to attack enemy units in range.
- Donkey Kong Country series Tri run
- This was a bad idea to even suggest
Quotes
Well, kirby is in a "flopped" position, and it looks quite "comical"
