TODO: fill in the answers I already got for why these aren't implemented (but primarily refer to game rules rather than IRC messages)
1. This page gathers all known tricks used outside of tasvideos. 2. These tricks as of now (2018/09/01) are not allowed per movie rules. 3. All information are written by me, who isn't a developer of BizHawk.
Sub frame inputs
- Precondition: A platform OR a game that polls for input from the controller/console instead of reading it from the memory
- Note: this isn't disallowed per movie rules. Problem in implementing in BizHawk: too many work?
Cart swapping
- Preconditions:
- 1. Platform that allows pulling of the game media
- 2. Games that forgoes erasing or writing initial memory

- Number of possible titles: no known values, my estimation is a few hundreds
DPCM glitch
- Precondition: NES games that uses DPCM and using a specific way of reading inputs
- Relevant TASes:
SMB3 in 2 seconds by total_ & ais523 (the sgdq says agwawaf) Gimmick by negative_seven using total_'s script modified https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ydxyXgVaNGI
- Number of possible titles: no known values, my estimation is ~40
Arbitrary SRAM
- Precondition: Platforms that forgoes erasing or writing initial memory
- Number of possible titles: no known values, possibly more hundreds
- Note: this is allowed only on very special exceptions. I totally disagree with current rules about this as well Nach's reasoning but here read his very detailed and very long research: http://tasvideos.org/Nach/MemoryInit.html
