This page lists other rerecording emulators which are:

* not [EmulatorResources/PotentialEmulators|potentially useful emulators];
* poorly supported by the site or not supported at all at this point.

!! VirtuaNES

> VirtuaNES is no longer allowed for submissions. For making NES movies, we currently recommend using [BizHawk] or [EmulatorResources/FCEUX|FCEUX] instead.

VirtuaNES is a NES emulator for Windows only, released under the General Public License. The current version is 0.97.

Since the advent of [http://code.google.com/p/fceu/|FCE Ultra], VirtuaNES has fallen by the wayside. Even when VirtuaNES v0.93 was allowed for submissions after a format flaw had been fixed, no submission for VirtuaNES ever took place.

!! Nintendulator

> Nintendulator is not allowed for submissions. For making NES movies, we currently recommend using [BizHawk] or [EmulatorResources/FCEUX|FCEUX] instead.

Nintendulator is a NES emulator for Windows only, released under the GNU General Public License.

Nintendulator was previously the [EmulatorResources/NESAccuracyTests|most accurate] rerecording emulator. However it has minimal support for TAS features, and so it is generally not used for this purpose.

!! ZSNES

> ZSNES is no longer allowed for submissions on this site. For making SNES movies, we currently recommend using [BizHawk] or [EmulatorResources/Lsnes|lsnes] instead.

ZSNES is a SNES emulator released under the General Public License. It works on Windows, DOS, Linux, and FreeBSD.

ZSNES supports re-recording, chapters, subtitles and other features, and was one of the first emulators to adopt these features. However, poor accuracy, sync stability, and other issues made it unpopular for doing any serious TAS work when alternative options became available. As the result, when TASVideos (then NESVideos) was established and started accepting SNES TASes, [EmulatorResources/Snes9x|Snes9x] quickly became the emulator of choice. By the time ZSNES was finally deprecated, only [1141M|one submission] had been made using ZSNES.
