This movie aims to complete the Pro Head to Head mode as fast as possible. It should be noted that the CPU cars have different acceleration and (sometimes) top speed than yours and that more often than not the advantage lies with them. There are also 2/3 places where I gain an advantage by intentionally not setting off at top speed.
adelikat: The viewer response has been quite poor. While the technical quality seems good, it failed to entertain the audience. Therefore, I am rejecting this submission. Almost everyone complained that the game/mode was problematic due to the constant stopping and starting. Better luck next time.
CoolHandMike: Re-judging due to rule changes that would allow this as a game choice.
CoolHandMike: Changed goal to "Pro Head to Head" since that is the game mode.
CoolHandMike: Re-uploading the file. Seems to have been a parsing issue that had an incorrect number of frames and time.
CoolHandMike: Replacing with a truncated file. Older movie file had an un-needed wait of nearly 400 frames since input can end early and still get to the final congratulations screen. I truncated the movie right as the final opponent is defeated where "Winner" appears. The one issue with this truncated file is that it takes a full minute of waiting for the game to naturally get there. This would be the old file which gets there as fast as possible https://tasvideos.org/UserFiles/Info/639017955743731965.
CoolHandMike: As this is an acceptable game choice now it is being judged again. The mode chosen is called "Pro Head to Head". In this mode the player has two ways to win. First method is to complete all three laps and beat the opponent to the final finish line. The second method is where the player has to outperform the opponent enough times to fill up the bar on the upper left of the screen by racing ahead so that the opponent exits the viewing area multiple times. If the opponent races ahead and leaves the player out of the viewing screen they fill up the bar slightly in their favor. In this tas the author races ahead four times in succession on each race. This is the fastest way of completing each stage as well. The author also abuses at times how the game evaluates which driver is ahead, even if in an actual race it would be considered a terrible move which would normally lose the race. After each time an opponent leaves the viewing screen the game places the racers side by side to continue racing. It is notable that it appears the cpu cheats by getting a speed boost initially as well. Optimization looks good with good strategies being used throughout.
Accepting to Standard.
Good job!
