In the epic prequel to Kung Fu Kid, Wang is on a quest to get his beloved Kyoko out of the grasp of the nefarious Johnathan! Just who is Johnathan? Why, a floating pair of bright purple track pants, of course!
This was one of the first games to get released onto the SVC-1000 console, which was SEGA's first attempt at a home console, released the SAME DAY as the Famicom. The game plays similarly to Kung-Fu on the NES, wherein you ascend a tower while fighting hoards of bad guys and bosses. This game, however, presents you with mazes of floors you must navigate in order to reach each boss. After completing a level, the maze gets more complex and another boss is added, until level 5, when the game begins looping.
Tricks used
- Jumping is faster than just walking, and you can initiate a jump one frame before touching the ground. Staying in the air as much as possible is a key to getting through the game quickly.
- The AI for bosses is absolutely terrible. This is a blessing, however, as they are all incredibly cheap and can kill you without any effort. By positioning yourself properly, you can make certain bosses get stuck in a loop where they cannot hit you.
- You can pass through the whip guy's whip while it retracts if you stand up within 3 frames of it passing your head, allowing you to walk up to him while he's recoiling.
- Johnathan disappears 4 frames after attacking you, making it nearly impossible to ever hit him. You can bypass this by breaking his AI.
- Certain tiles will break and send you falling down a floor. This is bypassed by taking one or two steps before jumping again to get ahead of the tile.
- From what I can tell, Rev 1 has more easily abusable AI coding that makes them much quicker to beat.

EDIT
Cancelled because what I thought was optimized turned out to not be. Re-making for re-submission later on.
