Time Crisis is a rail shooter that was created by Namco for the arcades and the PlayStation and is the first game in the Time Crisis series. It stood out from other rail shooters at the time by incorporating a pedal that allows the player to take cover from fire and other hazards and reload their gun. To ensure that the player doesn't spend their entire time behind cover, each stage has to be completed under a time limit that can only be increased by shooting certain enemies. The plot involves V.S.S.E. operative Richard Miller being tasked to rescue the Sercian president's daughter from Sherudo Garo, a survivor of the previous Sercian regime, and his right-hand man Wild Dog.

CoolHandMike in this run turns Miller's pistol into a deadly accurate machine gun and clears out Wild Dog and all of his mooks in record time without missing a single shot.

There are alternate encodes that greatly reduce the flashing caused by the player's gunfire and explosions.
