The Hive Any% TAS in 18:24 IGT by kunzd
feos: Claiming for judging.
feos: Clearing the branch since we don't use "any%" as a label.
feos: People in the threads mentioned visible mistakes, so I checked it myself. Only tried the first room while figuring out the jumping mechanics. Couldn't try later levels because the movie desyncs after 6.5 minutes no matter what I try. So here's my movie that enters the house 752 frames sooner than this run does.
This game has incredible TAS potential, as it has elaborate level design which requires heavy resource management and a lot of precise movement execution. And to be of acceptable quality, quite a bit more work needs to be done than we can see here.
kunzd, please read our TASing Guide that has tons of useful and inspiring information on how to make high quality TASes. I admit that Hourglass is kinda hard to use efficiently, because the game crashes regularly, there's no input display, no info about active savestate slots, no memory search, etc. But we're working on making Windows XP TASable through libTAS+PCem (not approved for submissions yet), so hopefully this game will have a full-blown publication some day, and it will look awesome like this game deserves.
Until then, I have to reject this submission for sub-optimality.
Regarding missing audio in Hourglass recordings, if this run was well done and synced, we wouldn't reject it just based on audio problems.
