Fifteen years ago, Hulk fought against his arch-enemy, the Leader, and his forces. It's time to do it again.

Game objectives

  • Emulator used: Bizhawk 2.10
  • Plays at hard difficulty level
  • Takes damage to save time
  • Abuses errors in the game

Comments

Most players of this game seem to agree on how difficult it is to pull off some of its moves;
  • Sonic Clap - A+B+C or hold A+B and tap C
  • Sholder Charge - forward, forward, C, hold forward
  • Bowl Enemy - forward, forward-down, down, down-back, back, back-up, up, up-forward, forward, A

Tricks and Glitches

Input Buffer

You can input your next move while you're waiting for the current move to finish.

Walk Through Walls

Hulk can walk trough thin walls by picking up objects that are close to them, like cars or some enemies.

Fake Landing

Hold the opsite direction while landing on a ledge of a platform and Hulk will land and then fall.

Stage by stage comments

City and Construction Site

There's a shortcut in the sewers, but only Bruce can use it. With the Walk Through Walls Trick, found on the Leader's Fortress, Hulk can also kind of use it to save a lot of time.

Tyrannus' Labyrinth

Nothing much different than what's seen on the SDA run, but with tools, it's easier to keep me Hulked Out throughout. The Fake Landing Trick was found here but will really save time after the next level.

Leader's Fortress

I almost gave up the run at this point; pressing tons of switches to open a single door was too much. Finding out it was possible to walk through walls using the Bowl Enemy Trick gave me the motivation to continue.

Leader's Interior

Again, there's not much one can do on this level to make it faster, but luckily, the Fake Landing Trick allowed me to skip a small portion.

Final Confrontation

This level is a pain. I tried to avoid collecting that energy pill, but Hulk runs out of energy at the Abomination fight without it.

Bosses

Abomination

Health 20~50. The sub-boss of every stage. The Sonic Clap, even though pretty slow, is pretty effective against him.

Rhino

Health 20. It's possible to damage him off-screen, but killing him makes his health kind of overflow to 255, unless I'm missing something.

Tyrannus

Health 40. Fourty Shoulder Charges is all you need to kill him. I wonder why the heck they nerfed Hulk's attacks on this version.

Absorbing Man

Health 31. The Absorbing Man likes to run towards the Hulk, and the only way to avoid it is to stay close to him.

The Brains

Health 40. This boss seems to ignore any kind of manipulation; it will spit electricity and small brains no matter what.

The Leader

Health 40. A Sonic Clap would make this fight a lot faster, but sadly, the only way to defeat him is an uppercut.

Darkman425: Just how incredible could this Hulk be? Guess I gotta judge this to find out.
Darkman425: So this Hulk fellow? I guess he's pretty incredible, especially seeing how he moves through this game with pretty well optimized movement and a few good wall clipping glitches. Everything looks solid in terms of optimization. Nice work!
