Ok this one's for you guys who know a lot about this game. Say I have a mercenary from Act 2, and he's got the might aura. Then I equip him with Bramble. Does he then give off both might AND thorns aura, or just one of them? If so, which. Also, for the same armor, does it give a passive thorns aura or do you have to select it?

I used to be a genius in this game, and then less than a year ago a few people used a password recovery exploit to gain access to a few accounts. One of them was mine, and I lost over $200 of stuff I was planning on selling on ebay in the next couple weeks. But I think the answer is that he will emit both auras. But I am sure that any auras given by armor are automatically added, so you do not have to select them. Some of them are extremely helpful because of this. It's a really great, well thought out game. The community just really sucks.

the merc will give off both auras. if you watch him, it will change every 2 seconds or so. this is, of course, assuming that your merc has the ability to gain skills. if bramble is + to thorns, im not so sure it will run.

Bramble is not plus to Thorns, it just causes whoever is wearing it to emit the aura. Bramble and other items such as Doom, Exile, Hand of Justice, and Azurewrath all work together, stack with each other, and stack with paladin auras*. *Using the same aura twice -- once from an item and once from a paladin skill -- has no added effect.

ooh, that last comment gave me another question. If you do have bramble, and then select your paladin's level 3 thorns, do you get the level 3 thorns, or the level 15-21 thorns from the armor. Or is it whever one was running first, like when 2 paladins are using the same aura?

most likely the lvl 3 aura, but i never tried it... i might have to heh btw, a good idea if u gonna make a might merc is get bramble,doom, and some helm that gives an other aura ( although im not thinking of any right now, so there might be none ) .. then u'd have 3-4 auras just with your merc, so that would help a lot

The aura you emit is the highest one you have available and active, whether it is from a skill or from an item. Bramble isn't all that great for a merc because you really need resistances, leech, and damage reduction to keep your merc alive. Plus Thorns is a useless aura. Doom, Chains of Honor, and Vampiregaze is a good setup.

I was just thinking of bramble on a merc for a summoning necro. Skeletons take a lot of hits.
