Post subject: VG Magic the Gathering

I thought it would be kinda fun to make our favorite VG characters into Magic Cards. Or at least try to put them into colors. I am an avid magic player. I love the game, and I often think: if this character was a magic card, what would his color be. Mario always gives me trouble. He is obviously a good guy, but I don't think he is white material. Princess and Toad are white. Mario is more red to me. He is still good, but a chaotic kind of good. He will save princess at all costs. And he is a man of action not a man of words. Mario seems like the kind of guy to break his friend out of prison, rather than find evidence to prove him innocent. You think?

Mario (2/2) Mana cost: 2RW Islandwalk WW: Mario gets +3/+3 until the end of turn. RR: Mario deals 1 damage to target creature.

Why island walk? Here is my idea Mario 2R 2/2 Legendary Human Plumber When Mario comes into play put either a feather token or flower token on him. 1R: Mario gains flying until the end of turn. Play this ability only if there is a feather token on Mario. 1R, T: Mario deals 2 damage to target creature. play this ability only if there is a flower token on Mario. Though I like Mario as a R/W creature.

Cause he's a plumber. ;) Besides, it fits the dual-color nature. EDIT: LagDotCom suggests Protection from blue instead, which also makes sense.

Well I suppose early mario could swim underwater indefinitly, and later he could still swim really well. Islandwalk makes sense.

If you ever make yoshi, thing work out nicely since red and white are both the ally colors of green, the obvious color for mario's favorite mount.

Yoshi would totally be green thats for sure. GG2 Yoshi Legendary ??? Beast? 3/3 T: Remove target permanent from the game, Yoshi doesn't untap as normal during your next untap phase.

Mario Mario Mushroom Kingdom 6 ani POT FOR Mario may strike for 1R damage. During your untap phase, he may burn a blood to gain flight [FLIGHT] until end of turn. If Luigi Mario is ready, Mario has 1 vote (titled). Luigi Mario Mushroom Kingdom 7 ani pot FOR CEL Luigi gets one optional maneuver each combat. +1 bleed when bleeding a Methuselah who controls a vampire with superior Necromancy [NEC]. If Mario Mario is ready, Luigi has 1 vote (titled).

Yoshi Dinosaur 4 chi san Mushroom Kingdom slave. Yoshi Island circle. Yoshi are not unique. If you control a ready Mushroom Kingdom vampire and Yoshi is untapped, you may tap Yoshi to give a vampire +1 intercept for the current action. -1 strength.

I would do it this way: GG2 Yoshi Legendary Dinosaur 3/3 When Yoshi blocks or is blocked, you may choose 1 creature blocking or blocked by Yoshi. If that creature has toughness less than Yoshi's power, remove that creature from the game. This is mostly because: -Yoshi's tongue is a close-range attack. -Yoshi isn't able to eat everything so there must be some way to limit what he can "eat." Somebody want to take a shot at Mega Man? (I would but I've already wasted enough work time by finishing up this post...)

Megaman 4 Legendary Artifact Creature 1/2 T: Megaman deals 1 damage to target creature. If a creature Megaman has damaged this turn goes to the graveyard, put it on Megaman as a creature enchantment. This enchantment reads "2, sacrifice this enchantment: Until end of turn, enchanted creature loses all abilities and assumes the power, toughness, casting cost, and abilities of this creature." Edit: I am much better at balancing Jyhad cards than Magic cards, as te power level in Magic has changed significantly over the past few years (whereas aside from the very first set, a Jyhad card is a Jyhad card is a Jyhad card). Also, of course Vampire: the Masquerade sucks.. that doesn't mean Jyhad is a bad card game.

Hey I like that Yoshi Giga! Hmm Megaman. I guess a clone effect would be the best way to do it. Boco's idea is good but the problem is, creatures not going to the graveyard, but instead on him as enchantments is a more powerful ability than at first glance. But, I suppose only 1 damage can't make everything go on megaman.

Bowser's Castle (0/5) Mana Cost: 1RR Legendary Wall Bowser's Castle cannot block Plumbers. [or whatever quality that would make it unable to block neither Mario nor Luigi normally]
I haven't played Magic in ages, so I don't know if this is in any way close to being balanced. And maybe add some requirements or abilities based on whether you control Bowser? EDIT: Yeah, I can see your point moozooh.

I'd be partial to: Hammer (2R) Enchantment Target creature gains trample and (+2/-2). Move Hammer to the graveyard after two turns, or if target creature dies.

There are cheaper 0/5 walls without drawbacks, and even with significant advantages. So don't worry about that card being overpowered :) The card in need for some power balancing here is the first 3/3 Yoshi for 2GG. That card would be sick good.

Well, since we have a Mario and a Bowser Castle Bowser (3/5) 3+BkBk
  • Creature
  • At the beginning of your turn, pay 2+R to play a Bowser Child token. Each token is a (2/1) creature. If this skill is played, Bowser does not untap during next upkeep. You may not have more than 7 (right?) tokens in play at one time. Should Bowser be taken to the graveyard, all tokens must be removed from the card.
  • RR: For one turn, Bowser gains (+2/+0)
  • If Bowser is killed by a Plumber, pay 4 to put Bowser on the top of your deck.

Compare to Wall of Stone, a 0/8, non-Legend, for cheaper

Since Wall of Stone, some walls have been printed that's.. a lot better than Wall of Stone too. 1G 0/4 Draw a card when this comes into play. or 1G 0/5 Put a -0/-1 counter on this: add G to your mana pool. Use this ability only once each turn. Two excellent and cheap walls, Wall of Blossoms and Wall of Roots, just as an example.

Seeing as how well fortified Bowser's Castle is, shouldn't it also deal damage (like Wall of Spears) to attackers?
