If I'm not mistaken, I think Alakazam is stronger than Gardervoir. It's faster, and I think it can have a higher special also. Unless you could make Gardevoir effecient enough, Alakazam is the best choice. Come to think about it, he's always been top tier. Must be the 'stache. :)

I noticed that you can walk by some trainers, but not by all of them. And Alakazam has higher Special Attack and Speed, but Gardervoir has better Defences. Here's another one, now completed up to the rival battle, where I always get killed. Click!

Quick Claw, Mud-Slap. Luck manipulation for the win.

The Quick Claw seems not to be working, but I'll try your idea out. Thanks! Edit: I tried, and it completely failed to work in about 100 instances. What is the chance for Quick Claw to work, and is it chosen in frames or thousands of frames?

I am not sure then. In Pokemon Gold, it has a 1/4 chance of working. Try manipulating at an instance further back (before the trainer sends out the Pokemon). If that still doesn't work, try going even further back.

I'm having an unusually hard time trying to find this ROM. Everytime I think I've found it, it turns up to be a hacked version. :/ Anyways, I think I can help quite a bit, so when I've finally found it, I'll watch the video and give my opinion. :)

How do you manage a trade in a single player TAS? Or is there some glitch I don't know about that lets you catch anything?
Signature under contruction, still.

shallow was speaking in general, not in particular for this run.

A source that I trust (A friend) says that Quick Claw is one in ten. I haven't found this to be the case, though.

I always felt Gardevoir to be highly superior to Kadabra or Alakazam. With Calm Mind, you can really make do with her psychic abilities. ;3

That's why I call Pokemon "it". :) kirbymuncher, have you already tried manipulating further back? If it's not working in 100 tries, then its success or failure might have been determined before the point that you're luck-manipulating from.

Manipulating farther back sounds like a very good idea. I'd try it, but right now I'm really busy. And Calm Mind is a TM, isn't it?

Gardevoir learns it.

Any WIP's to share? I've been waiting for someone to do a run of one of the GBA pokemon's for quite some time :).

Finally, the third gym has been finished. Should I teach Rock Tomb to Marshtop for the Flying Gym, or should I use something else for that?

Awesome, keep up the great work, in the middle of watching your latest WIP and I'm liking it.

I have found a problem. I cannot kill an enemy Golbat. A critical hit with Rock Tomb doesn't kill it, and then it just uses Wing Attack and kills me. Since it's Flying, Mud Slap doesn't work. Any suggestions?

Try going in with enough health to survive. I'm assuming Golbat is faster than Marshtomp. When can Marshtomp first get an Ice attack?

Hmm, off the top of my head, I don't think you get an ice attack for quite a while. Of course, I could be wrong. Also, I seem to have a problem loading the roms in general. I downloaded Sapphire and I only get a white screen. I get the same result with Ruby. I thought something might be wrong with the emulator, so I tried all other Roms. They all worked fine. So might anyone know what the problem is? This way, I can help the best I can.

First Ice attack comes after the sixth Gym, I think. So does that mean I should go to a pokemon centre? I really want to be able to use a death warp back to the start for the fifth Gym. I really don't know, but try a different rom.

You can use a Potion or Berry if you find one. About the ROM, I had the same problem until it fixed itself. For some reason, having a patch in the same folder and enabling IPS patching will cure the problem, even if you don't patch it anymore. I don't know why this works.

Here is a movie of beating the fourth Gym. I had almost no moves left when I finished, because I didn't go to a pokemon centre (I used Potions). It stops in the middle of the fifth Gym battle because I want your suggestions before I finish it. Edit: There is something strange with the fifth Gym's last pokemon. If his health gets to low, he uses a Hyper Potion, which is bad. I need to kill him without his health being it that range. A critical hit does not kill him, and he just heals. I had to bring out Zigzagoon and use Tail Whip on him, and it looks really strange. Do you mind?
