Indeed. Well, beside 4-5 runs that are not obsoleted; just outdated. It clearly isn't a good promotional video now (and I'm not sure it was back then).

I think it was good promotional material back when it was made. I'd like to see a new one made, but everyone who has tried so far has given up and/or disappeared.

Hmm, honestly, I'd not call a considerably long video (with nearly half of it given to credits; I guess that was done to let the ending song fit in completely) with bombastic text spangled with all sorts of errors anything close to good promotional material (and the general response kinda shows that). That wasn't the point, though; which is: it doesn't do anything good now. Maybe it's better to put it off the YouTube until a better one is made?

well, making promotional video is not all that hard. One needs to know what to show in it, that's the problem. I, for example, know nothing about Metroid series, and thus can not choose ood parts of metroid runs. If we decide and encode separately every worth showing in promo fragment of good run, the rest is technical work with a little bit of creativity ^^

:D I believe Somone already asked for a list of best moments in runs, but it was long ago. I would like to have list with movie name - ~starting frame - ~ending frame ^^ and I have never tried to encode snes/n64/gens movies =)

Well, yeah, but it's kinda difficult to show such a short run in a pre-edited footage without the actual gameplay sequence being suspected in being edited.

You might just as well show the whole of Maxim's run in HoD, since it only takes something like 30 seconds. Some scenes from the Super Metroid 100% would be good, namely the parts with the speed boosted spring ball. Parts from Saturn's RBO videos would be good too. You'll need SOME zipping stuff from a Megaman, though I think the latest stuff in the Rockman & Forte run with the lightning would work well. I would be really amused if Rhythm Tengoku music is used as the backdrop.
I like my "thank you"s in monetary form.
