Ah, that reminds me. I still have a Gameboy somewhere around the place. It's the old crappy one! In addition to that, I also have a Gameboy Pocket somewhere, which came between the first Gameboy and Gameboy Color.

The normal Xbox has an 8GB hard drive. That's plenty for emulation but if you like backing-up games, you need a new hard drive. But they're cheap.

complete snes roms = over 3 gb nes = 1 gb sega genesis = 2 gb or so... all gameboys = must be over 3 gb, i haven't downloaded yet. and all mames = 2 gb maybe. i would also like to have some free space to put videos or isos of psx and xbox games.

My latest aquisition is an N64, purchased solely to play Ogre Battle 6. I own four N64 games.. two copies of Ogre Battle 6 and one each of F-Zero X and Rockman DASH. By release date, my latest system is a GBA, 3rd revision. I also have a first revision. Both Milky Pink. The 3rd revision has an Afterburner with dimmer. I plan to buy a Gamecube soon (within a year or two) and already own GCN games that I play on others' systems.

Jesus well I didn't know we are talking COMPLETE collections. I have 100 SNES games and 100 NES games and it's more then I can handle and it only takes up like 40 mb... Haha well you are obviously alot more serious then me, so yeah get that large hardrive then. (edit) I just checked, my SNES+NES+Sega add up to 200MB. But I only have like 20 Sega games.

and all mames = 2 gb maybe. You're joking, right? There is NO WAY POSSIBLE that every single MAME rom will fit in 2 GB. Plenty of them go well over several MB, almost all of them go over the limit for SNES roms, I've seen many that even go over 20 MB. Even smaller games like Street Fighter 2 are several MB because of their graphics. It's even more fun when you unzip them.

but there aren't that many games, and the different versions take almost as much space as 1 version (because it reuses the big rom and adds very small ones). while on the super nes each new version of the game is a whole new complete rom. and there are tons of versions of each game

For what it's worth, my MAME roms directory is about 22 GB. It's complete as of MAME 0.81. 11.8 GB of this is CHD files, so if you don't count those as roms, it's around 10 GB. I haven't checked to see if it's been updated since then, but if it has, it's likely the size of the whole romset is even larger now.

Anyone know of a *good* MAME emulator for Mac by the way? I got a bad one that hardly runs anything... The only game it actually runs is XMen, which actually isn't bad... But seriously I tried to get Metal Slug, and Tekken, and none of them work.

My latest system would be a broken PS2 which I got for free, and then fixed. I have since chipped it. I also have a Gamecube in my apartment. Both are hooked up to a TV beside my computer. At my parents house I have left an Atari 2600, a NES, a Game Gear, and a N64 as I didn't have room for them when I moved out. I also didn't every us them; If I wanted to play a game for it I just play it on my computer.
