Nice going Squ4ll, maybe its not a speedrun but it does help. I just wish it would have been done from the beginning, because i am stuck again at BRINSTAR. Usually i go down to get spazers and all, but now i cant go down ( i think ). Maybe i have to W.C or I.B.J. all the way up to CRATERIA. But i'm not sure, since in your run, you have Super Missiles and Spazer while beatting Phantoom, and another reason i'm not sure i should go up is that there is a greeen door up there and i dont even have super missiles yet, so i guess i messed up. =P How do i go down to get the spazer ..... and beat the first boss battle ... Whats is name... The big dude.. Anyway nice going.

What items do you currently have? If you just got out from green brinstar you are gonna go and kill kraid, the way is there but its just hidden. And about the smv, I didn't think of recording it until I got to that part where it starts.

I was trying to go up or down the red BRINSTAR ^^ Thanks for the tip. Presently, i have mostly nothing 15 missiles, 00 hp tanks and 00 everything else, i think... I thought i was good at SM before i played this version ^c ^

Squ4ll-, what version of the hack / emulator are you using? It desyncs for me. as for my progress.. after I was stuck for three days in a room in maridia because I forgot to re-equip the jump boots, I now managed to cheat my way to lower norfair, kill the torizo, look surprised about the "reward" for it, and reach the first non-hot room. Where do I refresh super missiles now? edit #2: merged edit into my next post

Where does it desync, haven't been bothered to actually watch the whole thing yet to check for desyncs. Using the 1.2 version of the hack on the Super Metroid (JU) [!] rom with header added by using the Nsrt tool. As for the emulator its Snes9x 1.43 v10 with reset recording. As for refreshing your super missiles, just find some "easy" spot where you dont take much damage and can kill enemies semi fast. Not much of a tip buts its probably the best i can give you. But you say you cheated your way into lower norfair, I assume you have still beaten Draygon and gotten enough energy tanks and missiles. This is what I had when I first entered lower norfair - 7 Energy tanks - All 4 reserve tanks - 150 missiles - 25 super missiles - 35 power bombs - Charge, spazer and plasma beam - Morph ball, bomb and spring ball - High jump boots, space jump and speed booster

I'm using 1.0, that must be the reason. It desyncs in the room before leaving the wrecked ship.

and where might that spot be? If done in the heated rooms, I'll probably lose more health than the super missiles are worth, and I didn't find suitable enemys in the non-heated area. There are those flying light-bulbs, but so far they only dropped bombs, and I need a super missile each time I enter the area. Before entering I had 9 energy tanks, 4 reserve, 155 / 25 / 30, and the other stuff you mentioned, should be plenty. "cheated" as in "slowdown, savestates", not game-shark. I wouldn't ask for help if I deliberately got me into this mess ;) I'm thinking about leaving Norfair to get a nice refill, then re-entering through the lava pit. I will have one health-refill less on my way, but I won't need to fight the torizo again, so I should be able to pass it with the same amount of crystal flashes, but without wasting Supers on the Torizo. Anyone with a better idea?

I refilled in the fire fly room in lower norfair, atleast energy and power bombs (seems thats the only stuff those small buggers will ever drop). I also had enough missiles and stuff to do another crystal flash, then just refilled in the room before ridley on the flying bugs that come out of the lava. Lower norfair is probably one of the hardest points in the game, so refilling your items are going to be hard there.

you mean the space boots? *sigh* i tried that, but it's virtually impossible (without save states) to get those things in one place so i can kill them with 10 super missiles. is there another set somewhere, or is it really necessary to have the space boots at this point? cause i think saturn said it's not.

You do mean that slightly water filled room right? The way to Maridia that no one usually takes. Take of the high jump boots, and you can't get the space jump boots before beating draygon anyway :).

Well, technically, you can. It requires at least two (preferrably three or four) Super Missile packs. ;)

I'm still not sure how to kill the beetoms aside from 6 Super Missiles, so it's not like I know of the other way to take it at all… Especially since I've already past the point where having it is kinda mandatory.

Take of the high jump boots before you try to jump, you don't jump as high there and will there for make the jump. Get some speed and jump at the last possible frame. Or do you mean the room before the wrecked ship?

you mean "take off" the boots? because that's what i've been trying to do. i could only get far enough to wall jump off the platform, though not before hitting the water. however, i just tried it again and made it, apparently because i wasn't starting far back enough. i'm not sure if your suggestion helped, but thanks anyway. EDIT: i got to maridia and have no idea what to do. do i need the grapple hook?
