German TV show MTV GameOne is looking for speedrun players (TAS and otherwise) from Germany for interview. Contact me and I will pass on the contact details if you fit that specification and are interested.

I hope Saturn gets in on this :) (The TAS guy, not the planet. Though I have nothing against the planet.)

I'm german, but not much of a runner myself. I just hope someone captures the show, as I don't have a tv :/

Radon from SDA is a really good HL runner, don't know if he has an account on tasvideos.

There was an additional clause in the request by the representative of the TV station. That the player does not play "extremely violent shooters like Quake or Doom". Apparently, politics in Germany are somewhat restrictive on those. I don't know which category Half-Life goes to. It's not a gorefest, but it's still violent though.

No shooters? That practically eliminates all the people I know. :/

Must be surprising to hear that one of the famed TASers of one of your favorite games is also your fellow countryman. :D

Yeah. It also would've saved some time when we PM'ed each other. ^^

Except that both of them haven't filled it (oh, the irony!).

Bisqwit mailed me the informations. After reading, I think they didn't realize what a TAS really is and confused them with real speedruns. Being a TASer only, I replied them to not being suitable for the interview and pointed to http://speeddemosarchive.com/ for a better place to look. PS: Willkommen im Club, creaothceann. :-)

There is a German from SDA who recently completed a run of SMB 2 in 11:15 on the PAL version, however it is still in the submission process so I don't know if we should contact him until after the run is officially posted.

Contact him now, and by the time they get around to the interview the run will probably have been judged so he can comment on it.

Can Bisqwit post the interview info so I can relay it to him?

Okay, I've contacted him and he said he would like to do the interview. All I need now is the interview details so I can send it to him. EDIT: or am I too late? Is the interview already over?

True, although German is not my mother language, nor do I consider myself to be a good representative of the TAS (and even less real-time speedrun) community.

And I forgot the second "i" in his name.

I think you're a good representative! It was your 1:41:59 Pokemon Red TAS that got me into TASing! I think having made at least 2 TASes is good enough to be a "repreentative". Although it could be a problem that German isn't your mother language. How fluent are you, and did you move from an english-speaking country?

I think it may be starting to be somewhat late to grab on this offer, though.
