I was originally going to do a time attack for the NES version, because I like that one so much. However, Famtasia in its infinate glory cannot run any of the US versions of the game, and crashes when you try to build houses in the Japanese version. So I want to get people's advice on this. What routes do you think would be best? I assume, through extreme luck manipulation, that I can quickly beat the computer by getting a manopoly in 1 or 2 turns around the board (or maybe even 1) and building houses and such very quickly, and having the computer landing on it. I could, in theory, get Tenessee and St. James by landing on 1 and then rolling snake-eyes, then getting a chance card to put me back 3 spaces onto New York. Then I should be able to buy several houses so that the computer lands on New York, then pay me lotsa money to the point where I can finish putting up houses (or hotels if the cash flow is enough) and have the computer land on New York again next time around and should go bankrupt. I can get the monopoly in 2 turns (from start, double 5's, then land on St. James. 2nd turn: snake eyes to Tenesee, then to chance and back 3 spaces onto New York). This could be an interesting time-attack to compete with, because of the huge number of different ways to win. Also, I could make an asthetic video in which I get all the monopolies. That could be interesting to watch :)

Monopoly is my favorite board game, and before I read your post I was going to suggest that same route of getting the oranges. It is almost definitely the most money-efficient of any monopoly.

The 12th Monopoly World Championship will be held in Tokyo 7th-11th October. But I guess all the national qualifications has bee held already... Yout strategy sounds good. (I don't know the names of the US version too well so I can't be sure.) Good luck with your try.

OK, so I have looked everywhere in this game, but I cant find a way to turn the animations off :( I found the option to put the game on fast mode. However, someone told me there was a way to turn off the animations. If I cant turn off the animations, then the movie gets very boring and much longer.

If I recall, one of the versions has AI that's quite stupid. They'll pay all the money they have on hand if you give them a monopoly of their own. Makes for easy bankruptcy.

Yes, however if I take the time to get a second monopoly to sell to the computer, I think it would waste too much time. I bet I can bankrupt the computer before they get around the board once :)

How many players are you planning to have in that video? I mean.. It would be easy to beat one computer. But can you handle max number?

I'd imagine that if you had 7 computers, and there is a specific best route for one computer to follow, the other 6 would follow the same route, and it would get tedious. I think one computer would be best.

To elaborate on what I said, you only need to give them the final piece of the monopoly, so if they have two of one, and you have the last, you can trade that one property for all their cash on hand, no matter the value.

How's this route sound, assuming the computer trades all money for a monopoly? You are player a, computer player b. 1a: 4+4, buy Vermont. 8(no doubles(abbreviated nd)), buy St. James. 2b: 3+3, buy Oriental. 2+1, buy Connecticut. 3a: 1+1, buy Tennessee. 2+2, get move back 3, buy New York. Trade blue monopoly for computer's money, spend all money on orange houses. 5(nd), don't buy Indiana. 4b: 5+5, 1+2. Between the houses on St James & New York, computer should be bankrupt. 4 turns is all it takes if you can exploit that AI bug.

theoretically- hoping to see one from itstoearly. If you can trade and buy houses without it being your turn, you don't have to get doubles between Tennesee and New York. If not, the reason I chose rolling a 5 to Indiana was because I thought not buying Indiana would be faster than getting a chance card- you'd have to see which is faster.

Unfortunately, if I do make a movie, it wont be for a while. My fall semester at school has started, which makes me very busy :(
