A friend of mine (the one who was mentioned above as the Baiken player) is about as good with Fox as the person in the linked video, probably a little better. He's done SSBM tournies before too. As for me, I'm not very good at all (like usual).

One of my friends is very good with Falco. He played in tournaments here in the midwest. I play Link and Peach, but I am no tourny player that's for sure.

I very rarely lose whenever I play as Mewtwo or Falco, if that's any indication of anything. I wouldn't consider myself a pro by any means, though.

I'm not really that great, becuase I never get to play anyone other than CPUs. Coincidently, my best two characters are Fox and Marth too.

I play as Mewtwo and Ice Climbers, so I bet I'd do really well in a tournament. I usually play with my friends from college, but we play for fun, so it's not too much of a conducive environment for honing skillz. I do as well as Mike, one of the other guys; he plays Link and Ganondorf/Captain Falcon. Mewtwo suits a hit+run game, which is infinitely more possible in 4 player matches.

Mewtwo is like, totally terrible though. I just started learning him. He hardly has any KO moves, except the shadowball. Props to you guys who use them as your main dude. Takes true skill to beat marth/falco/falcon/fox with Mewtwo.

Uhh, Mewtwo's smash attacks are some of the most to-the-point death dealers in the right hands. His arsenal is like 30% constant damagers, 50% hard hitting attacks, and 20% miscellaneous trash moves. That's more than most, including everyone's beloved yet overrated Marth.

I find that bad thing about Mewtwo is that he sort of hard to control. His dodge makes him go far behind the other person so that its hard to attack them, but he runs really slowly. Also, it seems hard to damage anyone as Mewtwo, as all his good attacks are slow and hard to hit people with.

I dunno... (there's a set of 4). Offensively, sure, Mewtwo's got some good qualities, particularly in his kill moves. Defensively, well, he's big, light, and fluffy. Twice the size of Jigglypuff but half as maneuverable. But before I get into another tier list argument; how about dem bowserz?

Samus ftw I actually wish I were more versatile. My bro can play virtually any character fairly well, but I specialize ONLY at Samus. I suck with everyone else ;_;

I play a decent fox. mewtwo is considered worst in the game I believe... But a really good mewtwo will own you if a pro uses it. I go to tournaments occasionally, but I never win. I do decent. I'm improving with falco, ganondorf and marth. I can now tech off walls consistantly in a match (it's very suprising to my opponents usually)

That fox in the video was incredible... I doubt your friend is as good as him, He was just getting owned by a better player....KEN!

OK people, time to drop the knowledge! VF doesn't have enough variety for my tastes - that's my main problem with just about any 3D fighter. Marth is hardly "overrated". The number of good moves isn't the most important factor at high level - just look at Tekken. Zurreco, you DO know Ky is easily the best character in Slash, right, and Chipp is actually decent? XX and #r were eventually broken by the Japanese, mostly with Slayer/Eddie in XX and just Eddie in #r. People associate XX with Sol dust loop, but he wasn't on their level - Americans just liked him because he was easy mode. Slash, on the other hand, has remained excellent throughout its lifespan. However, in the new one (Accent Core), Chipp is back to suckitude. Ky isn't as good but more interesting/fun, it looks like. Most of the weaker characters throughout the series can actually compete now, though - May, Venom, Zappa. Best fighting games IMO, in terms of variety & depth at high level, are: 1. Guilty Gear Slash (& possibly AC) 2. SF2 Hyper Fighting (Turbo, for the console warriors) 3. Super SF2 Turbo I'm not a huge fan of the supers in ST - the good ones drastically restrict your gameplan and allow for lucky wins. Old Sagat is real lame too, but the rest is all good. HF has lots of interesting stuff lost in future versions, such as Zangief's K lariat (invincible to sweeps), Balrog's invincible turn-around punch, and Chun's almost shoto-level fireball. I often find the HF characters more fun than the ST ones. Oh, and as an aside, I think Tekken and 3rd Strike are the most overrated tourney games. I'll explain why if anyone cares. And on topic, I always thought Evo was nuts NOT to include Smash before, but realized that the Major League Gaming schedule made it virtually impossible. That's the whole reason they have it now - MLG just dropped Smash this year. Also note, Evo staff members have outright said in the past that they always make it a point to include the hottest new 3D fighters. That's why you had DOA last year, and two PS3 games this year when few players own one. All in all, though, this is their strongest game lineup yet. Last year was marred by DOA, Mario Kart DS, Tekken 5.0, and SF2 Anniversary Edition - respectively replacing them are VF5, Smash, Dark Resurrection (best or 2nd best in the series), and ST. That's what we call "trading up." =)
but then you take my 75 perchance chance of winning, if we was to go one-on-one, and then add 66 and two-thirds ch...percents...i got a 141 and two-thirds chance of winning at sacrifice

tekken is all-around made of aids, though i don't see why you have a beef with sf3 (hell, it's the birthplace of AEGIS REFLECTORRRRRRRRRRRRRR) aside from the balance issues which are really a lot better than some of the other stuff evo plays

I think you don't realize just how bad it gets at the highest level. In a 2/3 setting, you get Evo final 8 with 127 Genei-Jins. Even Ohnuki is at a disadvantage against inferior players using Yun. Japan single-elim tournaments make it look better, as low tier can sometimes make it far by stringing together a few lucky parries. But that's not good design, just chance. Capcom got lazy and created characters that HAVE to parry to win (i.e. Hugo, Q), then with Remy it's literally like they forgot parry existed. My problem is, controlling space is not as much of a factor with parrying. The game is mostly fought up-close, like 3Ds. It *is* one of the most fun games at intermediate level, however, which I think is why it remains so popular. The cast really is quite diverse and deep, it's just that almost none of that matters at the top.

Well Marth is the best though. It's not impossible to beat him, but he rates pretty excellent in every field. Slow fall, great recovery, awesome smashes, awesome arieals, great wavedash and standing dodge, a counter for good mind games, fast grab, good range and with a sword advantage, he rocks.

"great recoveries" need to be actually versatile, you could could just drop a turnip or something over the edge and he'd pretty much have no choice but to take it in the face (and if he's at the level of damage where he needs to use up+b then that'd surely set him back more than a bit) or give up

You can recover well with just about any character if you know what you are doing. marth only has one real way of recovering (just the B-up), while most other characters have two. (side B and B-up) Marth's sword just gets in the way too much to try and kill him while he is recovering... He could get hit by the turnip and DI towards the stage making him able to tech and recover though. Either that or just avoid the turnip. Slow falling is not always a good thing, you can be easily comboed and juggled. You cant say Marth is best in the game though, it just depends who is using him.
